4.0 out of 5 stars Chock Full of Info!
This book is one of the best I have read so far. The author lists lots of how to tips for all phases of the invention process. I, like another reviewer of this book, only wish the author had an e mail address so I could communicate with him. I really learned somethings that I could DO from this book. (some supposedly how-to books only tell how the author did it! )...

2.0 out of 5 stars Fluff vs. Facts
My roommate recently gave me a copy of this book and I wanted to give it back! Reese delivers the information in scenarios and homilies and its very difficult to seperate opinion and fact. Which is OK if you need a cheerleader but if you are a driven person who needs cold hard facts, up front and accessible then this book is NOT for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harvey Reese knows what he is talking about, June 14, 2001

This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
My mind is always working and coming up with ideas. Until I read this book, I had no idea what to do with them or how I could make money on them. I always thought that I would need a patent.

By reading this book, Harvey Reese took me step by step through the ideation, creation, and licensing of new product ideas.

Mr. Reese has licensed a number of his ideas in the toy industry and has been very successful. This book gave me the get up an go to get out there and make money off of my ideas.

BTW, I found Harvey's website. It's www.money4ideas.com for anyone that would like to know. He did not put this in his book, but it is an excellent resource and a way to get a hold of him.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most reader-friendly and useful books on licensing, April 19, 1999
This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
Most "how to" books (on any topic) are often boring and technical. This book was an easy and riveting read from cover to cover, and it managed to convey all of the important information that I need to get started on licensing my invention. It's great for giving you a thorough overview of licensing and patenting, from which you can take immediate action. It's also a good starting point if you want to move onto more technical (and unfortunately dry) sources of information. Since I am an Australian, a chapter with more of an international perspective would have been helpful.

I had recently been playing around with an idea and even did some research for a product idea. This book put all the pieces together as far as what to do after you have patented or trademarked an idea. Recommended for anyone with a good idea but who doesn't know what to do next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Something to ponder!!!, September 12, 2000

This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
I found Mr. Reese's book to be very inspirational and a very easy read. A different approach and something I will try. What he teaches is that anybody can do this, and how to do it. There is so much negative out there and the odds of success seem slim. An extremely important thread runs through the book - Get your hands dirty and work hard until you get it done. Good advice! It worked for me. Though I have just read this book, I had already just licensed my first invention. If I had read this book first, it would have been very helpful, although it might have caused me to give up too early, due to some apparent "fatal flaws".

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Marketing and Licensing Information, March 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
The book is very readable, encouraging, and has useful and excellent information. He is right on about needing to show the product in person. The company we licensed our product to was the one we were able to see in person. The licensing contract info was most helpful - very straightforward and covered more issues than any other book....

4.0 out of 5 stars inspirational, January 4, 2000

This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
The book has alot of great examples of "new products" that gives you a break from the technical "how to" info. The writing style is easy and fun to read. It doesn't give very much info on developing prototypes and taking the new product to market on your own though. He does however let you know this upfront. Maybe Mr. Reese's next book should be on those subjects. I would buy it. Harvey Reese is a funny guy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very insightful, informative. The manual for unlimited success, December 25, 1998

This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
HOW TO LICENSE YOUR MILLION DOLLAR IDEA is a book I could not put down. It is aimed at bringing out the creativeness within ourselves and step by step repeating the process by which we create viable products. Then author Harvey Reese goes on to tell you the secrets of what to do,avoid and expect in the world of licensing. Even an average person can create a product that can be the next "Cabbage Patch" doll (read about it in the book) Thanks, Mr. Reese. Watch for my name soon in the news.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding. One of my all time favorite books., December 6, 2004
This review is from: How to License Your Million Dollar Idea: Everything You Need to Know to Make Money from Your New Product Idea (Paperback)
This book is phenomenal. Jam packed with info on how to take your "half-baked" idea, develop it, license it, and make $$$ off of it! You don't have any ideas yet you say? No prob -- Harvey Reese teaches you that coming up with new ideas is a SYSTEMATIC and deliberate process, and he teaches you that process... the same one that's worked for him over and over again. I have read my copy 4 times and highlighted and marked numerous sections that I often go back and review. Most recently I received immense help from the section on The Contract. I even submitted an idea to Mr. Reese through his website, and even though he didn't think it had too much money-making potential for us, he took the time to send me a detailed analysis of why it was sub-optimal and how I could improve upon my future product ideas. The learning experience involved in that was well worth the small amount of money to me. His audio CD is outstanding as well. If you want to be the next developer of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the "Baby on Board" car suction things, or Post-It notes -- you can, but you have to read this book first!

I know it may sound like I am Mr. Reese's nephew or something from the way I'm extolling this book, but I'm not, I'm just an avid reader and dreamer who really, really liked this book. You can't go wrong buying it.
