The notes featured in the book are mostly funny, but other things detracted from the enjoyment. Some of the handwriting is hard to read. Occasionally there are minor obstructive differences between British and American English. But the thing that virtually suffocates the book's humor is the author's commentary which appears beside each note (doubling the pages). They have all the effect of dissecting a good joke to find out why it's funny -- when done, nothing funny remains. They are as fun as getting drunk with a grammarian.

This would be a good gift for former roommates or those currently suffering by such hands. If you want a rich compilation of notes and the like that demonstrate the comedy and tragedy of our discarded thoughts, try Davy Rothbart's Found series. For something specific to roommates, try College Humor's "Roommate Confessions."

When I received an email about this book, I thought "how could this be anything but entertaining?" Well, it's not - yet. The notes themselves are mildly amusing, but the comments the author has attached to each take away from them, they do not add to them at all.
Don't waste your money.

Have you ever had a roommate? Did you hate them? Were they annoying? Don't feel so bad. It can always be worse. This book is proof.

It contains reproductions of real notes written by real roommates. Or, at least that is what we are led to believe. They seem real. Some of them are very funny. Others are troubling. It's a fun read. Laugh. Or cry.

I gave this book to my roommate for Christmas and he loves it! It's very amusing and a bit raunchy which is right up his alley. Some of the notes are hard to read, but if it wasn't in the person's handwriting who wrote it, it just wouldn't be as funny. Good gift for someone who is hard to shop for.

My mother and I found this in a bookstore while waiting and upon opening it, it instantly made us laugh. This is a great bathroom reader or coffee table book. The way the pictures are presented is great, and the commentary provided is interesting. If you want something to laugh at, definitely buy this book. It gives you some insight into how it is to live with a roommate for sure.

This book is a great buy. It drove me back to my university years and all the battles I held and heard about from others. It has lots of funny notes, and some obscure ones that I wish I had written. It is a great coversation piece (if you just want light, fun and easy conversation.) I have my copy at work, in the lunch room, and it triggers the most interesting stories.
