...I find the recipes confusing because she includes side dish ingredients in the list of ingredients (so I have to check what actually goes in the main dish as opposed to the side dishes if I don't happen to be thrilled with a preset menu). The dishes I have made have been good but the book loses points with me for ease of use.

This is the best low-fat nutritious cookbook I've ever tried. I am a registered dietitian, and I still was thrilled with Zonya's book. I liked the recipes - clear instructions, nothing tricky, no exotic foods. I especially liked the format which gives you the order of meal preparation - my husband can use it. For many less-experienced cooks, knowing when to cook the rice, start the salad, etc. and get it all done on time can be intimidating.

Now, no excuses for high calorie fast food or TV dinners. I plan to buy a copy for my daughter-in-law and sister too. I also liked the fitness tips and other information on a healthy lifestyle.

Just the thing to start your New Year's resolutions off right.

I checked this book out from my local library and loved it so much I had to buy my own copy. The recipes are absolutely delicious and easy to make. I particularly like the way the author tells you step-by-step what to do and provides all of the dietary information for each recipe. No unusual or hard-to-find ingredients -- just nice, simple recipes that you and your family will love. This is really a good book.

The health-fitness content of this work is wonderful ... truly a practical-scholarly edition for your kitchen countertop. The packaging of the book intrigued me as I am a publisher - the book folds out and can stand upright, folds flat on its spiral binder, and the page layouts feature eye catching titles, subtitles, humor, and graphics which allow the reader to easily visualize the food ideas. My high compliments to Vicki Grucz, graphic designer and the author who now have a 2nd Edition Work which sets new standards for a health-conscious America!

If you want to eat healthy but are limited on time, resources, or ability, this is the book for you. It'll show you how to put together an entire meal from salad to dessert. It'll show you how to make a healthy meal in minutes and save you from resorting to TV dinners. It can also show you healthy substitutes for unhealthy ingredients. As an added bonus, there aren't a lot of exotic ingredients. I would recommend this not only to the health-conscious but to the newbie chefs who have just mastered egg-frying.

This book has been a wonderful tool in maintaining my new healthier lifestyle. The recipes are easy and delicious. It's the only cookbook I ever bought that didn't sit on my shelf collecting dust. Thanks, Zonya!

I actually bought this at the book store for full price. I am in my mid 20's- I have a career that keeps me really busy and I have some late nights there- so I don't have a lot of time to cook and I don't really know how to cook, I need to start eating healthier- but I don't have alot of money to go to a nutritionist or buy all of the really expensive health foods and I am an extremely picky eater. So as I was browsing through this book, I noticed some great and quick breakfasts that I could grab and go to work. The one minute meals are great and easy to prepare at work for lunch or if I get home late and want a small dinner. Also, depending on how much time I have to prepare dinner, depends on which meals I choose. There are so many great recipes and you can just cut out things that you may not like. So far in 5 days, I have lost 5 pounds. Please note that I have been eating these meals, have not hit the gym yet, just walking and have been drinking LOTS of water (no pop, no iced tea). I have also gotten my coworkers interested and they are also purchasing. So my reccomendation is to buy the book- they are easy meals, not extravagent and taste good. If you are still unsure- go to the book store look through and then buy it cheaper online. I am actually purchasing for my mom and grandma for a late Mother's Day gift. Hope this helps with your decision!

I was leary about buying this book, somehow healthy food was never really easy nor did it taste delicious. Zonya has changed all that. These recipes are the greatest, and you don't feel like you are missing anything, the Tips and Inspir ations are an added bonus. Thanks Zonya for a job well done!!

I purchased this book because I was looking for healthy crock pot recipes. It was recommended to me by a friend and she said if I wasn't happy with it she would buy it from me; she was that sure that I would love it. And she was right!!! I do love the crock pot recipes; but love all the others as well!!! Also, I work with a dietitian in my department; and she is ordering one soon because she loves the whole concept and can use it for her classes. It's GREAT!!!

I have many cookbooks but this one is more than your average cookbook. It's set up for busy people who just want something healthy and fast to prepare and eat. There's a meal plan for each day; grocery lists; and helpful hints through out the book.

no gourmet meals here, but quick, creative, and healthy ways to get your family fed on busy weeknights. Still requires some planning ahead, but if you just follow the lists, it's not too hard to do.
