As owner of Candy Shop, the hottest beauty shop in Harlem , Candy is used to getting her paper and getting any woman she wants. When she interviews Vanessa, Candy's young lover Vera is no longer the only person who can hold her attention. Candy sets her eyes on Vanessa.

The Bohemian beauty, Vanessa, has also caught the eye of Candy Shop customer and one of the most noted figures in the street game, Rich, much to stylist Chanel's chagrin.

Candy and Chanel hatch a plan to separate the two lovers. Emotions, jealousy and greed take over and take the plot to a new level.

"Lickin' License" is a gritty, in-your-face look at what jealousy and envy will do to friendships. Lines will be crossed, rules will be broken and lives will be changed forever. Just as the title suggests, this novel contains steamy sex scenes. There is just enough drama and the story's ending leaves way for a part two.

I read an unedited proof so there were some errors. In all, this was a well told story that flowed well. Some of the storyline was a little hard to swallow, but that is the point of fiction and creative writing. I recommend this story to readers of urban lit.

For me this was a very different book but it was pretty good. I found myself rooting for Vanessa,Candy and Rich to be happy in their 3-way relationship while others were constantly hating on them. The one thing i didn't like was the cover of the book(i couldn't show it at work. LOL) I hope part 2 comes out soon because i am ready for it.

Although it had some steamy scenes, I found it a bit dry and dragging. The cover is fire but the content was a bit overstretched in a few areas. I didn't feel connected to the story nor to the characters, it all felt like they were trying to hard, well most of them to say the least.

I am not one to judge a book by it's cover or title, but I really loved this book!! The story line was different, I found myself wanting to live their lives just for a moment!

This book was ok for me. The lifestyle was a bit much for me, the fighting, the lies, lesbian, let's not forget the pregnancy. This book started very slow picked up a little then slowed down again. At what point did Rich got back in the game (confused). Overall I would have given this book a 3.5 stars.

This was the best book I have read in a long time. It was definitely filled with a lot of sex scenes some more detailed than others - but they were all great. I really liked Rich, Vanessa, and Candy's relationship. It was a little to Unbelievable at times...but that's what fiction is! I loved it and can't wait for part two to arrive...

I was intrigued by this novel and upon getting it on my Kindle because I was not about to bring a book by this title to work! I was digging the love triangle and thought the drama around that was good enough however towards the end I think Intelligent Allah got an idenity crisis and turned a seemingly romantic street novel into a shoot 'em up bang bang movie .....that I found some of the scenerios to be a lil over the top. I was content on seeing the polyamory aspect explored and see how the three chreacters evolved into a a urban version of BIG LOVE. The sudden turn of events from love to kill or be killed was a complete monkey wrench in the story and I found myself reading but not enjoying the sudden change of storyline so all in all I am hoping the sequel will focus more on that along with the drama but less on the street violence and if any please make it beleviable....again good book I think the author tried to pack one to many genre's in this book......
