As owner of Candy Shop, the hottest beauty shop in Harlem , Candy is used to getting her paper and getting any woman she wants. When she interviews Vanessa, Candy's young lover Vera is no longer the only person who can hold her attention. Candy sets her eyes on Vanessa.
The Bohemian beauty, Vanessa, has also caught the eye of Candy Shop customer and one of the most noted figures in the street game, Rich, much to stylist Chanel's chagrin.
Candy and Chanel hatch a plan to separate the two lovers. Emotions, jealousy and greed take over and take the plot to a new level.
"Lickin' License" is a gritty, in-your-face look at what jealousy and envy will do to friendships. Lines will be crossed, rules will be broken and lives will be changed forever. Just as the title suggests, this novel contains steamy sex scenes. There is just enough drama and the story's ending leaves way for a part two.
I read an unedited proof so there were some errors. In all, this was a well told story that flowed well. Some of the storyline was a little hard to swallow, but that is the point of fiction and creative writing. I recommend this story to readers of urban lit.

I thought this was a very good read it kept me turning the pages. I have to agree with the previous reviewer some of the storyline was hard to believe but it was good.

Although it had some steamy scenes, I found it a bit dry and dragging. The cover is fire but the content was a bit overstretched in a few areas. I didn't feel connected to the story nor to the characters, it all felt like they were trying to hard, well most of them to say the least.

Very interesting story
I am not one to judge a book by it's cover or title, but I really loved this book!! The story line was different, I found myself wanting to live their lives just for a moment!
