My boyfriend is Dutch and he was SO excited when I sent these to him as a surprise! He loved them, and apparently they're his favorite kind. (I totally got lucky on that one.) They're hard to find in America he says, so he was surprised and excited that Amazon had them.

They're pretty overpriced though. For part of his childhood he grew up in the Netherlands where licorice was mass produced and a lot cheaper. According to him, in the Netherlands these would cost 1 dollar. But, if you want authentic Dutch licorice and are willing to pay the crazy price, get these! They are delicious!

Heksehyl Heksen Drop are soft, salty licorice cylinders with a gumdrop-like texture. They have a fairly mild licorice flavor and the salt content is not overwhelming. They contain 3% aluminum chloride, the type of salt used to flavor much European licorice. While they may be too salty for someone accustomed to sweet American licorice, they are not nearly as salty as double zout licorice. They are a representative example of Danish licorice.

This salty treat is great. The salt gives the licorice a whole new flavor. They give the mouth a peculiar little pucker.
I dislike the pictures on the bag. Not sure what they mean, but seems they could advertise a delicious treet differently.
