Easy to assemble and install.

The basic design concept is Top-Notch and has great promise, HOWEVER... Again - This is a very cheaply made product.

This rack is much to narrow for my pot lids.

There's not much to the Lid Maid - just a long plastic box with a divider running down the middle, which slides on a track. For us, however, it was a godsend. I installed the lid organizer alongside a Rubbermaid slide-out plastic bin. Miraculously, I managed to squeeze all but the largest lids into the organizer. Now, instead of digging through a pile of containers looking for the right size and a lid to match, then frantically shoving everything back in and trying to close the door before the avalanche began, we just pull out the container bin, select one, and then pull out the Lid Maid to find its lid. Truly a beautiful thing.

The construction isn't super-sturdy, but it does the job. Installation was simple - just a couple of screws. We've been using it for most of a year and haven't had any trouble with the sliding mechanism, nor does it show signs of wear.

Before installing this, I must admit that I had my doubts about the quality and functionality, but I was desperate to find a storage solution for the lids. To my surprise, it's actually proven to hold up and it works really well, especially considering the affordable price. Would stainless, wood and rollers be better? Probably, but this little unit doesn't require the investment or a handyman. I installed it next to a wall, which I recommend doing to provide added support. I figured, how strong can that plastic bin actually be? Just be sure to allow space next to the wall so the lid handles won't rub against it when you slide the tray in and out. I found it simple to install, and I'm just a busy mom with a small battery-operated hand drill. Because I was working in a tight space, the small drill was perfect. Installation only requires drilling 2 holes. The tray base even has a label that indicates which end to install against the back wall. The whole unit is so light, you might even be able to avoid drilling by using those removeable Command strips from 3M, but I can't say that with certainty. I'm kind of a gadget geek, and I like figuring out how things work. This took me a couple tries to figure out how the tray fits on the base. I thought it might snap on and off, but it requires no pressure. Instead, you just line up the tabs with the holes and GENTLY slide. It comes out just as easily for cleaning. Unlike another reviewer, my tray slides easily, but if yours does seem to stick a little, try rubbing the base rails with a candle - it's always helped with my sticky windows and drawers.

I bought this years ago, probably in 2001, because it was cheap and 2 of these fit in the limited space I had available. I'd rate the product only 3-stars for doing the job although it is plastic and is not as sexy as the stainless steel lid holders. The extra star is because it has lasted, undamaged, for more than 10 years and I've usually pushed it back into the cabinet with my foot. The "racks" can be easily removed to clean. I have 7 lids in mine--4 Swiss Diamond lids the largest for a 13 inch frypan and the smallest for a Dutch oven. I also have 2 stainless stock pot lids and a glass lid for a cast iron Dutch oven. Even with the weight, the racks slide out pretty easily. I do recommend installing it against the side of your cabinet since all this weight would not be supported adequately without the wall of the cabinet to help. I've certainly gotten my money's worth on this product!

This looks simple & convenient but it was a nightmare to install & it still doesn't work properly. The instructions are vague & installing the unit in a bottom cupboard took almost an hour (installing in an upper cabinet makes the contents hard to see & retrieve). For us, the unit's capacity (4 lids) and the shipping cost (about 50% of the price) made this purchase a waste of time & money.

This organizer does what it says. Now I can see the lid I need and my cabinet looks organized. I only wish it slid easier but for the price it is a good value and it's made in the USA!!!!

I returned this lid rack after discovering that it was too deep for my old school custom cabinets. Seemed like it would work good though for normal depth cabinets. Make sure you verify the depth before you buy!

I ordered two of these to organize my pan lids. The one arrived with two of the four "tabs" already broken. The plastic is cheap and flimsy and isn't very well made. It's a relatively simple design. Two screws secure the long narrow base to the bottom of the cupboard. One of the screw heads popped off as I was screwing it in. Realizing the screws were so cheaply made, stripped immediately or broke apart, I used my own sturdier screws. The actual lid holder fits on the base, sort of snapping in, but more like sitting on the base and kind of clicking into place. The idea is to be able to slide the holder out to retrieve a lid when needed. Problem is that if you slide it back in all the way it locks into place and it won't slide back out unless you fiddle around with it, all the while hoping not to break the fragile plastic. I had a couple of round cork "feet" that I stuck to the back of the holder so that when I slid it back in the round stopper would hit the back of the cabinet before clicking in and becoming stuck. All in all, I was able to make it work, but don't know how long this product will last. Too bad somebody doesn't come up with a wood version of this. I gave it two stars because the concept is good, I was able to make it work, even though the quality is very poor and it's extremely overpriced for what you get. Literally this seems like something you'd find in the discount section of the Dollar Store.
