Don't believe the hype about a round wok lid being better: the physics don't support it. It will steam anything well. This heavy duty flat lid fits 14" woks and comes with a large handle, which will prevent you from being burned on touch. It cleans in a snap and stores in a much smaller space than a round lid.

Well made Lid, however the wooden handle the varnish is bad, but not a problem just take off handle and sand and spray clear poly or whatever.

I ordered this wok lid knowing full well that it was made of aluminum and it is exactly what I thought it would be. The wok lid is perfectly functional and I have no complaints.

At the same time, I do prefer staying away from aluminum in cooking whenever I can. I wrote (I can't remember where.) that I would like to buy this same style lid in stainless if it ever became available.

Well, I just got an email from THE WOK SHOP offering to exchange my aluminum flat wok lid for a stainless domed type if I would like. They must have read my post. lol!

Talk about customer service! The profit on a wok lid, let alone the trouble of an exchange, is so small that most retailers would never go to the trouble of sending an email. (And that is if the customer decides to respond the email.) The Wok Shop did, though!

So, I'm gonna go ahead and order a stainless domed type and give my aluminum lid to "the Goodwill".

Anyway, 5 Stars to The Wok Shop for lightning fast service and also for the follow-up regarding the their stainless lid. Customer Service is very important to me.

I would not hesitate to recommend The Wok Shop to anyone for their Asian Cooking needs.

Arrival condition:
The lid was dirty. Looked like it just come form the tin mill where the manchinst had pressed the lid.

Current condition:
After a good washing, the lid was put together with the wooden handle. It is a good lid, but I was expecting more of a higher quality of material.

Conclusion:
I bought the lid because of the high reviews. I am giving this a 3 star because of the low quality material and the condition the lid had arrived. Dirty, gritty and not put together. Like I said, maybe I was expecting a higher quality lid.

I bought the lid separately for my 14" wok and I was sorry I did not buy a complete wok (i.e. wok, fire ring and lid together). The lid I purchased sits lower in the wok than I would have liked, but quality wise the lid is good.

Very useful wok lid. Love the long handle, no fear of dropping or burns. I did not find any quality issues with the handle at all - varnished and coated when it arrived, I didn't have to do a thing to it.

This wok lid is thicker metal than it appears in the photo, I expected something thinner and was pleasantly surprised to find I was wrong when it arrived. It is a substantial, thick piece which should last a long time.

I also did not find any dirt or aluminum on the lid at all as previously mentioned. You do have to put the handle on with the two screws provided but that is really no big deal and takes about a minute or less. All in all a great bargain I think!

Seems ok, I don't really like using aluminum that rubs off easily around my food, that's my only caution. Wash it really really good to get all the loose alumninum off.
