A new rock legend?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Liebling (Audio CD)
First I have to say one thing: this artist is the most talented singer I've never heard, his voice is hot, sensual, powerful. Pretty similar to Bono Vox,Liam Gallagher, Joe Cocker, but more sweet. This album is a bit strange, with different sounds;rock, pop, blues, jazz, but all songs are truthful and the lyrics are intelligent and very personal. I think this fellow from Sweden could become a rock-legend. It's a sin to miss this album

I don't know much about the artist Andreas Johnson but I do know that I love his music. His vocals almost reminds me a bit of Bob Dylan and David Gray combined. There is such a earnest, sincerity in his lyrics that just takes the listener's breath away like in songs such as "Patiently" nad "The Games We Play". Just one listen to "Glorious" was all it took for me to fall in love with this talented Swedish artist. "Glorious" is a infectious electronica-influenced pop/rock song with a melody that cannot be duplicated by any other artist. I am not too crazy about "People" and "Spaceless" but I can easily forgive him for those songs with "Patiently", "Glorious", and "The Games We Play". I definitely look forward to hearing more from Andreas Johnson in the future.

in this current time with acts such as keene, coldplay, maroon5, gavin degraw, etc. being quite popular i can only ponder and wonder at the injustice of someone such as andreas johnson not gettin the attention, glory that he deserves. this cd "lieblung" is comparable to the acts i've mentioned above. it is truly a gem, a modern music masterpiece, one of those cds you would want if stranded on an island or some other planet that has electricity. highly reccommended!!!!!!!

This album is the best thing I've never heard, singer's voice is incredible, all songs are perfect. It's a pity only that that artist is unknown here in the States, but with that voice I can predict a glorious future for this young boy.

Liebling ("loved one" in english), produced by Kvint/Johnson, was written in a short period in Berlin, is a straightforward, rock album full of strong individual songs,Glorious isn't the only one! Spaceless, Breathing , Safe from Harm and Submerged are strong rock songs in the prope sense of this word. You can't miss this wonderful album!

This is really good electronica mixed with powerful hooks. I first saw the video for "Glorious" at a local dance club and i was hooked. I HAD to find out who made this song. He looks (and sounds) like Liam Gallagher from Oasis, so that threw me for a loop, but he is definately worth checking out. If you found these reviews go ahead and buy it cuz u won't be disappointed.

Almost perfect,
By A Customer
This review is from: Liebling (Audio CD)
I say almost perfect because there is one tune that irks me a little. Other than that this CD was exactly what I was hoping for when I had previously heard the song glorious elsewhere. Glorious is just the type of song that makes a person want to have the whole album and not worry about the quality of the rest. Because of Glorious, you trust that is has to be good. And it certainly is. There is a constant liebling-esque strain that flows throughout the entire album, tying the songs together and creating a flow between them that makes for a lovely transition from one catchy tune to the next. A good album for de-stressing.

Liebling
A GENUINE OBSESSION FOR THE POMPOUS YET DELICATE,INTELLIGENT MUSIC AND VERBAL CREATIVITY COMBINED WITH THE ANDROGONY WHICH ATTRACTS ALL SEXES, SINGER/COMPOSER ANDREAS JONSON HAS THE CHARISMA OF A YOUNG RIVER PHOENIX OR JIMMY DEAN AND IS MEGA STAR MATERIAL !!! JONSON, A SPECTACULARY ELEGANT MAN, PROVOCATIVE YET HUMBLE AND SWEETNATURED BEHIND THE BAD BOY LOOKS, IS PRIMARELY A GREAT MUSICIAN, RAISED BY JAZZ MUSCIAN PARENTS. THE SKILFUL BLEND OF JAZZ, BLUES, BALLAD BRAVURA AND SOFT CROONING MAKES THIS YOUNG FATHER AND DEVOTED FAMILY MAN A DARLING AND CATAPULTS HIM INTO A SEX SYMBOL OF STUNNING PROPORTIONS, SIMULTANEOUSLY MOVING THE TENDER HEARTED AS WELL AS THE POSEURS. DO NOT MISS HIM! JONSON HAS GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO HIT INTERNATIONALLY AND IS WITHOUT FURTHER ADO STAR MATERIAL AND SOMEONE TO DISCOVER ASAP. IF YOU NEVER HAVE HEARD HIM PRESS THE SAMPLE "GLORIOUS" AND YOU WILL BE SWEPT AWAY BY A MUSICAL AVALANCHE WHICH IS JUST THAT. GLORIOUS !!

I almost crashed my car the first time I heard the song "Glorious" on the radio! Who was this singer and where did he come from. I seriously almost had to pull over and just listen to this amazing song. Right from the dramatic intro, then the ever-sexy vocals and the production of it all...it can be described no other way than glorious! It is a bit reminiscent of U2's "Mysterious Ways." My guess was that this had to be British but when I heard the name Adreas Johnson I was perplexed...a Swede? Yes, I am a bit of a music snob and mock the likes of Abba and Ace of Base, but Adreas Johnson alone redeems the entire musical reputation of the nation. Obviously, I went straight out and bought Liebling, and once again was taken away when I heard "Glorious." I was disappointed in the rest of the album however. It is pretty good pop music but no other track lives up to the glory that is "Glorious." Buy the cd just for the one track though. It is worth it. |
