The state has commissioned a multi-billion dollar project for Los Angeles, which will be awarded to some lucky real estate firm. Since all is fair in love and war, firms are using unorthodox methods to best the competition. Two, in particular, are going head-to-head. One has hired a private detective and the other has one of their assistants working for a maid service agency.

Disguised as a housekeeper, Maya Jamison is working in the home of Sam Walters, her firm's prime competitor. But after two weeks, she has no information, he is still an enigma. On a weekend getaway Maya meets a handsome stranger, gives a false name, and does something completely out of character. Sean Wynn, the detective representing the other agency, is disguised as the overweight real estate broker, Sam Walters. Sean meets Maya, shares an unusual weekend, and becomes enthralled with her. Things get complicated; Maya's boss hires Sean to snoop on none, other than, Sam Walters. When an unknowing boss introduces Sean to Maya he is shocked that he already knows her, and suspicious as to why Maya lied about her name. Her boss throws another twist into the charade, he now wants Maya to be herself and work as Sam's assistant. Of course, neither Maya nor her boss suspects Sean is Sam Walters. In spite of his suspicions, Sean feels the need to protect Maya, a hit has been placed on someone in the real estate world and he thinks she could be the target.

LIES LOVERS TELL offers a weird twist of fabrications, of corrupt city officials, and of deception by two lovers juggling their multiple aliases. The drama is tangled, but believable, the plot has just enough intrigue, and the characters are interesting. I enjoyed how this was put together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lies...Deceit...or Love?, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Lies Lovers Tell (Mass Market Paperback)
Maya Jamison is an up-and-coming executive assistant in the real estate game, or is she Martha the lowly maid? Or maybe she's Macy, the red hot vixen. To make things more confusing, there's Sean Wynn, the private investigator from London that knocked Maya off her feet. Or maybe he's Sam Walters, the overweight and not so attractive millionaire that came on the real estate scene from nowhere. Lies Lovers Tell is a web of lies and deceit. But in the mist of it all, a love story is untangled.

Zuri Day does an excellent job weaving the two main characters into three secondary characters. Even though these five characters are all only two characters, the story flows and is an easy, exciting read. Zuri Day does a fantastic job with knowing how long to carry out a certain event before revealing an unknown and going on to the next event. Lies Lovers Tell is a well written story.

This is a book that you will not be able to put down. It had you guessing what was going to happen next, and all the undercover action had its many funny moments. Add a little bit of love into the mix, and it makes for a very exiciting read. Read this book, you won't regret it!

This book has the right title because the lies never stop and the lovers had some hot scenes and at the end tell was told. The book for me was very slow to the point I had to let it rest and pick it back up again. But to say the least the entire the book is good. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book had me LOL!!, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Lies Lovers Tell (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't know why it took me three weeks to finally sit down and read this book but I've been kicking myself every since I started!! This is a very good book. Zuri Day did a fantastic job. It's hard to believe this is her first book. Not only were the main characters hot but the secondary characters (Trish & Strecth)were also great! Some parts of this book had me laughing out loud and I will definitely recommend it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lies, Corruption and Love, January 27, 2009
This review is from: Lies Lovers Tell (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book and read it one day. Sean aka Sam and Maya aka Macy and Martha were interesting characters. I was hooked from the beginning. In addition to the corruption and attempted murder, Zuri Day managed to weave a wonderful tale of love at first sight. This was really a good story and I look forward to future books.
