An interesting look into the life of a talented lady,

One of my dear friends told me to turn on the TV to see someone amazing, and it turned out to be Lisa Williams. She had a show on the Lifetime Channel that featured her giving readings for people who wanted to contact spirit - and also she did 'housecalls' to homes with spirit activity. It was fascinating as it not only showed us how sessions were done, but let us into Lisa's life.
The 3rd season was not picked up by Lifetime. And that is a shame - Lisa Williams wrote her biography, Life Among the Dead, and it is a refreshing look at the woman behind the metaphysical person. She gives a frank detailed look at her life, and how her gift was cultivated. Her grandmother was a famous psychic/medium, and she certainly inherited that gift. It also goes into detail how she and her family came to America. Merv Griffin, who was a spiritual man, was instrumental in the show. Her validation to Griffin that she was the real deal was amazing. Ms. Williams also does Reiki healing and her healings have been verified in her book. I also am familiar with Reiki and am glad she put this information in the book. There is little of the 'teaching' aspect in this book. Sometimes when you read something authored by a psychic/medium, they include little tidbits on how to meditate, or some insight into the metaphysical. While Ms. Williams does show us the various spiritual happenings, the only mention of 'the Other Side' is at the end, and that is an explanation of what happens when we 'cross over'. Whether or not you agree with her interpretation, if you are interested in expanding your knowledge, you will probably greatly enjoy this book. One hopes that Ms. Williams will continue her path on the metaphysical. She is delightful and a gifted lady. You will enjoy this book. I'm sure Merv Griffin is proud.

Do You Want to Know Everything... About Lisa?,

This review is from: Life Among the Dead (Hardcover)
Fans of Lisa Williams, sit up and take note: this book is a must-have. And it goes without saying that the fiercely loyal folk who clamor for tickets to her sold-out appearances have already pre-ordered this book and are, as I type, curled up reading about their favorite medium and clairvoyant.
And well they should. This is a wonderful autobiography of a path that is only partway traveled. Lisa Williams reveals to us tales from her early life, her awakening to Spirit, and the start of her career as a professional medium. But it is much more. It is also a testament to the pluck and courage of a single mother who at one low point had literally no money and was days from being on the street. And how, by listening to her heart, and summoning courage, she moved from that desperate moment to a life of love and security, and a vocation of healing other people from their own life traumas. In spite of health challenges, a near death experience, and the fears that we all face, Lisa has already accomplished more than many of us ever will in one life. And she is really only just getting started! Within a matter of a few years she moved from begging her mum for money to meet basic needs, to being driven to Merv Griffin's yacht to discuss a television show concept. Lisa's story is a perfect illustration of the Laws of Attraction and Power of Intention that is being so intriguingly discussed in popular culture via media such as The Secret, What the Bleep Do We Know Anyway, and the Louise Hay classic: You Can Heal Your Life. One of the things I particularly like about this book is Lisa's candid description of her own self doubt as she explored and grew in her mediumistic ability. I think any clairvoyant will identify and be comforted by reading of Lisa's faltering starts at reading; faltering because she was uncertain of herself, not because the data was faulty! Full of anecdotes and photos, the book is a delightful read. I inhaled it in one long gulp this weekend. I adore this lady, and have found her to be not only irrepressible, but an inspiration. Go Lisa, go!

A Riveting Read,
By
This review is from: Life Among the Dead (Hardcover)
Having only just very recently seen Lisa Williams a couple of times on TV, I was absolutely blown away by the accuracy of her readings. I have been a bit uncertain about what to believe about psychics. I've seen psychics giving rather inaccurate readings and not been convinced at all. That is until I switched on the telly one day and "accidentally" saw Lisa giving readings on the TV program "Life Among The Dead". Her book was released shortly after I that. I decided to order it immediately. It arrived on a Friday, in fact two of the same book arrived. I had accidentally ordered two books instead of one. As Lisa says, there are no coincidences.
When I started to read the book I could hardly put it down. I finished it on the Sunday morning (a day and a bit later). By the time I got to the last page I had tears in my eyes I was so moved. Lisa may be young but she has the wisdom of an old soul... This is a beautiful book written by Lisa in a warm and friendly manner. She is natural, down to earth and has a great sense of humour. I felt as if Lisa is an old friend of mine, telling me this really exciting story about her psychic experiences and how it all came about. This is also the story of a young woman starting out her life living a not-self life. Through trial and error, and through many incredibly painful experiences she gradually comes to realise why she has really come to this planet. Once she starts to live her life authentically her "luck" turns as if by magic. That is how The Power of Intention and The Law Of Attraction works. She has a lot of guts and she also has a wonderful spirit guide and other spirits to help her. I was a bit dissapointed when the book came to an end, and I wanted to read more of her story. I hope she will write a follow up. I highly recommend this book.

I was so excited about this book being released but after I read it I felt like it focused more about her life with only just bit's here and there about her wonderful gift. I was hoping she would give advice on how to achive this gift as well as how spirits look to her and how she see's them. This book is just a simple Biograhphy about her life. I would have expected more but you know what, It's Lisa Williams and she is fabulous so I did enjoy the book otherwise.

I was hoping from the title that there would be more specific information about what the spirits actually do when they pass over. Like, what is a typical day in the life of a spirit? This I didn't get, it was more of the same--messages from the dead. I would like to know more about their lives, what are they actually experiencing? Maybe we just can't understand, but I would like to know what to expect when I die.

With so many New Age authors boasting about their enlightenment and publishing tomes about their wonderful and miraculous lives, it is so refreshing to find this book.
There are some people who radiate sincerity and warmth. If you have ever seen Lisa Williams on Lifetime you probably agree that she is one of those special souls. Her small book is not the boastful biography of a superstar psychic. It is the story of a gregarious young girl's path to womanhood; a journey plagued by the same problems and insecurities that many women encounter. It is also the story of the gift she inherited from her beloved grandmother. The only part of the book that seemed to be lacking was the section where she speaks about her relationship with Merv Griffin. He was instrumental in promoting her talents and she talks candidly about the fact that at first she did not even know who he was. She then goes on to speak briefly about what appears to have been a friendship between them. Certainly he would have sought out her talents in his last days and it would have been interesting to know more about how she helped him come to terms with his death. At the same time you have to admire her for respecting his privacy. Many people would have sensationalized their role in his very private life. You get the feeling that she isn't someone who needs a great deal of money or would value a lucretive revelation above someone's feelings. She even passes on messages from spirits on her website for free. I'll venture to say that Lisa Williams is more than a former Lifetime TV personality. She is the genuine article, a psychic who respects people and wants to dedicate her life to helping them.

Lisa Williams- the real deal!!!,
By Al Khem "Alice" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Life Among the Dead (Hardcover)
After reading this book and then seeing Lisa in Nashville on July 19th (and finding out yesterday that no one other than country-music legend Johnny Cash came through at that event, held at the Ryman Auditorium where he and June Carter Cash, who also came through that night along with his first wife, had performed countless times- his daughter was in the audience and got read, but no one there at that time, including Lisa, knew who they were during the reading!!!), I can say that Lisa is the real thing when it comes to psychic mediums. She is such a bright light, full of love and healing for those with open minds and hearts, I highly recommend this book, her website, and most certainly seeing her in person. My husband and I drove 3 hours to see her, and he WAS a skeptic- until his mother, her mother and his two great-aunts came through. Plus, he is a HUGE Johnny Cash fan, and I couldn't wait to tell him what I had learned from reading Lisa's blog, that she found out what family she had been reading for after the show, during the book-signing meet-and-hug. She was oblivious as the rest of us during the reading and was truly star-struck to find out what a legend had honored us with his presence that night. I just love her and want to assure the rest of you out there who hold Lisa dear that she said another tv show is on the way, a "daily show", network and details to be announced (watch her website!!!).
Now, get the book and find out for yourself. Enjoy reading with an open mind and open heart and life just might hold some surprise gifts for you, too! Blessings, SS

Lisa Williams, is a very gifted individual."Life Among The Dead" was a good read.I expected more from Lisa.I beleive that she has so much more to offer her readers and viewers. The majority of the book, was about her family and friends. Am sure we all love our familes and friends. There are those of us who haven't had the opportunity in meeting and talking with Lisa, who I am assumming wanted to hear more on the subject of lost loved ones. A little more detail, on how and why the dead come in contact with her. I myself beleive in her abilities, would very much like for Lisa Williams, to write a second book, for her readers and viewers. There are millions of people in the universe who are looking for some type of closure after losing a loved one.The chapter Epilogue on page 235 was very enlighten and well said. I only wished she could have elaborated more on this particular page throughout the chapters of "Life Among The Dead" "There is so much more to be said." There are so many people still grieving, we all are, it is universal. NEVER ENDS.

If you're looking for any insight into spirituality, this really is not the book for you! All this book is is a mediocre autobiography of Lisa Williams (and not an especially entertaining one; rather boring throughout most of it!) It's not awful but it is a big yawn. It's not that well written (i.e. it jumps around quite a lot) and there is virtually zero entertainment value to it. I do like Lisa Williams' television show but this book was a big waste of money! One word: DUD

Lisa in the Literary Field,
By
This review is from: Life Among the Dead (Hardcover)
Lisa Williams may be one of the most carismatic persons ever entering the TV media and one delights in her enchanting spontanousness and directness.
This gifted persona oozes a zest for life and and afterlife and makes seemingly incomprehensible phenomenon stand out as selfexplanatory and obvious. Where ms Williams excells "live" in her TV series she fails in her literary ambitions. She simply does not manage to transcend her vivacious and intense personality in letters. The book gives little clue as to why she seemingly unwilling caved in in order to dedicate herself to her unique gift and we get to know a lot of trivia that seems to lack the sufficient inspiration to make us understand and truly believe in her chosen profession. Do not misunderstand me: Ms Williams is simply outstanding and endearing on her show and gives hope and comfort to millions of people. This major task is simply not reflected in her written ouvre. It is always tempting to compare Ms Willimas with Mr Van Praagh. Ms Williams, in my opinion, comes out spendidly in such as comparison, whereas mr Van Praagh is an able writer.
