I am buying this book for every friend i have..I haven't been so moved by a book in a very long time. Life As A Visitor has the beauty of a remarkable memoir so magically written touching your heart to the very core. My family were immigrants from Europe but I never knew their story as they were not so open with their challenges. Life As A Visitor provides a kalediscope view of the beauty and challenges of life in a new land. I could relate to the author's story as it took me on a walk through my own memory lane of challenges I had faced with moving to a new city, starting a new school and even taking on a new job. Ms. Nazarian speaks to us and gives us hope and inspiration. She found home within herself and this book helped me grow to find my own sense of strength too. This is a must MUST read. You will love it. Guaranteed.

Life As A Visitor is one of those books that stays with you. I read it 2 months ago and I still find that almost daily there is either a poem, a touching story from this book or a few lines that keep living in my thoughts and heart. I came back on Amazon to buy a few books for my book club. We are going to be reading this book next month. Life As A Visitor is a perfect book to open up deep connecting conversations. The author's story of moving to the United States at a very young age without her parents intrigued me to find out how she was able to find such a inspiring sense of herself and allow for deep connections in a new country. I related to this book because i went back into my mental filing cabinet of my life to experiences that I too felt like an outsider and yet found my way and grew stronger because of it. This book is so inspiring and beautifully written. It is truly my most favorite book I have read in a very very long time!

I stayed up all night to read Life As A Visitor. I was sad when it ended. Ms Nazarian has the gift of making her readers feel like we are having an intimate conversation with our best friend..she shares her fascinating story with us all the while taking us on a journey into our own life story. Life As A Visitor is beautifully written..the words are each more beautiful than the next and the poetry, breathtaking photography and ability to show us that we are all connected regardless of our own personal story..is inspiring and hopeful. I read this book and felt so many emotions that I loved touching within me. I love this book! It is a book that will stay in your heart and mind for a very very long time. I loved it!!!

Angella is a wonderful story teller. I couldn't put the book down and read it straight through in an afternoon. I love the way she weaves her travels into recollections of past memories. I felt as if I was on the journey with her feeling the sadness, the confusion and the bittersweet memories of Iran. The poems were wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the book!

Poetry that is meaningful..a memoir that nourished me and challenged my limited way of understanding the immigrant experience..breathtaking photography. i enjoyed this book so much..i haven't been so moved by a story in a very very long time. Couldn't put it down!!

I was given this book as a gift..at first i was intruiged by the outward beauty. The cover truly popped out at me..so vibrant and beautiful.As beautiful as the book is on the outside..this author created a tapestry of gorgeous words that are weaved inside each story,poetry and powerful photography. i found myself relating to so many of the honest and open feelings that ms. nazarian shares with us. she is the best friend that we all wish for as she shares her true heart with her readers and helps us be more honest with ourselves. i read this book two times already. in this book the author inspires with her words of her paternal grandmother..we are the heirs of many unlived lives..life as a visitor has inspired me to try to fulfill all the dreams i have in my heart. a powerful incredible book!

It hooked me in from the very first paragraph as I am certain that anyone who reads it will be mesmerized as well. Ms. Nazarian's writing style is intimate,spiritual,deep and connecting..her words heighten all your senses. I could truly see in my mind's eye every moment of this captivating story.
Life As A Visitor is a book like no other ..the tapestry woven of her life as a young girl, finding her way into a new world in America,inspires us to believe that through the journey of learning about our differences, we find that we are much more the same than we realize.
Ms Nazarian's poetry touches the heart in the deepest place. Life As A Visitor is one of those rare books that you never forget. It changes you forever by its magic. I went out to buy one for each of my friends as I know the gift of this book is a gift that touches the heart to the core.
