Buddha for beginners - adults and kids
We found this book in the library when we were doing our "world religions" survey of nighttime reading with the kids. My daughter became obsessed with this book - used to spend hours reading it - in the lotus position no less. Unfortunate errors in English spelling and grammar
I enjoyed this cartoon story of the Buddha's early life -- his story is covered only up to his enlightenment -- but the not infrequent caption errors in English spelling and grammar were distracting.

We found this book in the library when we were doing our "world religions" survey of nighttime reading with the kids. My daughter became obsessed with this book - used to spend hours reading it - in the lotus position no less. After we could renew the book at the library no more and she was still reading it, we bought it.
This book is a sort of graphic novel of Buddha's life and gives one a good overview of the myth and the man. The drawings are colorful and well done and the storyline is easy to follow yet points to the deeper meanings in the story.
