Great Hip-Hop Album You Haven't Heard of,

I really enjoyed Charon Don & DJ Huggy's Art Of Life, surprised that this is the first review and Hip-Hop fans have not been exposed to the excellent duo of Charon Don who does the MC'ing and DJ Huggy who amazed me in literally every track with such beautful production.
It has the touches and characteristics of a classic Indie album: creative, lyrically-focused, and Sick Jacken-resembling. I never heard of Charon Don before listing to his rapping on this album. You would think he is a Wu-Tang product from his rap style and the Killah Priest collaboration on "Observers." The poetry is out of this world and DJ Huggy instantly became one of my favorite producers, almost in the same realm as DJ Premier and J Dilla. This is a must-have album, only 4 stars because of the inconsistency in some tracks. My favorites included Charon Don ft. Reef The Lost Cauze - "Just Wanna Know", Charon Don ft. Dynamiq - "Ghetto", and Charon Don - "Free". Cop it. |
