What a wonderful book! Life in a Colinial Town (Picture the Past) takes young readers on a journey through life in the American colonies and beautifully illustrated it with artwork of the period and photographs of historical interpreters in authentic settings.
Young historians will come away with a good understanding of the crafts of the day, houses and furniture, a day in the life of a slave and children at school work and play. There is wonderful information and pictures of clothing wigs, food, etc. Bonus: The book even gives a recipe for apple pancakes authentic to the period! Score! |
