These replicas of a butterfly's life stage are a great assest in the classroom. The students are able to closely examine the replicas and really understand each stage more clearly. My son got a hold of these before I could bring them to my classroom. He is 3 and he enjoyed looking at each piece. Eventhough, he didn't understand all of the stages he knew about caterpillars and butterflies. These would be great for a classroom and/or for a child who is interested in the world around him/her.

While I Love the butterfly kit wherein you can see eggs to caterpillars to chrysalis to butterfly, children need to TOUCH things. Of course, they can't touch the live critters.

That's where this product comes in. It compliments the kit and allows a hands-on experience for the little ones.

I am a teacher. I bought this product so my class could learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. They loved It.

This is not a toy-- it's the real thing. I bought this product for my 3 year old granddaughter. The whole process was a delightful learning experience for her and oh such joy!! We got ten caterpillars when we ordered and each one turned into a butterfly. The kit comes with everything you need to watch the caterpillars turn into butterflies. My granddaughter was able to hold the butterflies on her finger and talk to them before releasing them to the back yard.
