This is a wonderful edition of a Maya Angelou story-etic poem; great fun to read aloud, and can be energetically enjoyed by a young child. The pictures generate frequent pauses for discussion, adding strongly to the stories liveliness. It may appear to be a bit pricey, but it becomes a book that will generate requested future readings.
Your mind will become quite activated.

I took the advise of other reviewers. Instead of directly giving it to my 8 year old granddaugter and making an issue out of it, I left it on my coffee table for her to discover herself. The reading is too easy, but the challenge is to help my granddaughter deal with her fears. I love the book.

I'm buying this book for every one of my friends who has a child. It's wonderful writing, brilliant art work make a moving story that every child should know.

I bought this to honor Maya Angelou, who will continue to be a valuable treasure. I was hoping to pass this on to grandchildren, but I found the drawings disturbing and so will not. I would have rather had just the poem.
