WITH HIS SOPHOMORE LP BUT SEEMS TO BE DRIFTING AWAY FROM THE PRODUCTION OF DJ PREMIER {UNFORTUNATELY} , BUT HE STILLS RECRUITS SOME VERY CREDIBLE BEATSMITHS. Ra' EXPERIMENTS WITH THE LIKES OF AYATOLLAH, DOMINGO, CURT CAZAL, AND ALSO THE RETURN OF EASY MO BEE WITH 2 OF THE BEST TRACKS {HIP HOP & READJUSTMENT}. AFU SHARES THE MIC WITH FAM SUCH AS GURU AND M.O.P . HE ALSO TRADES WORDS WITH THE LEGENDARY BIG DADDY KANE. ONCE AGAIN AFU RECRUITS A TROOP FROM THE WU FAM BUT THIS TIME IN THE FORM OF RZA{TRUE MASTER ON THE BEAT} ANOTHER WU-AFFILIATED PRODUCER 'ARABIAN KNIGHT' WORKS WITH RA' FOR THE FIRST TIME ON "SACRED WARS" feat. newcomer DON PARMAZHANE WHO YOU MIGHT'VE CAUGHT ON GURU'S BALDHEAD SLICK [2001 RELEASE]. OVERALL THIS ALBUM IS ALMOST FLAWLESS BUT LACKS THE POWERFUL SOLO JOINTS HE HAD ON THE DEBUT. THE FACT THAT PREMO ONLY PRODUCED 2 TRACKS {LYRICAL MONSTER & BLVD.} HURT ALSO.IT IS HOPEFULLY ONLY A SIGN THAT HE AND GURU ARE HARD AT WORK ON A NEW GANGSTARR ALBUM. UNTIL THEN, THE DIVERSE PRODUCTION & STRONG GUEST POWER OF THIS ONE WILL HOLD ME OVER. PEACE

4.0 out of 5 stars Life Force Radio, May 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Life Force Radio (Audio CD)
When I first heard his first cd i was amazed. His second is just as good. Underground Hip-Hop at its best. He dosent even need to curss that much because he has such mike skills. Almost all tracks produced by premier and guest appearences by RZA, guru og gangstarr, MOP and more. Amust have hip hop instant classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nowhere near Body of the Life Force...but keeps underground, October 31, 2004
This review is from: Life Force Radio (Audio CD)
This album lacks the creativity, and the beats that made Body of the Life Force so good. One thing this album does continue with is Afu-Ra's skills on the mic, and his lyrics. That's why this album gets 4 stars. This ain't no commercial crap relying on pop beats to make people like it. The beats arent as good here, but the lyrics u could listen to for days and never get sick of the album. This is not anywhere near as good as Body Of The Life Force, but it's still a solid album. The best song here has got to be Perverted Monks. Afu-Ra rips it up on that track, and it probably has the best beat on the album. The other best tracks are Hip-Hop, Scat Man, Lyrical Monster, and Crossfire. If you copped Body Of The Life Force, don't expect another underground classic like that. This ain't a bad album at all, in fact it's a solid album, just the bar was set extremely high after his debut, and this did not reach it.

This review is from: Life Force Radio (Audio CD)
afu ra rips it everytime when he comes out wit a record, nevertheless he does it again wit life force radio. Both body and radio are 5 stars. Lyrically he terrorizes the game even though he is not what some may say

4.0 out of 5 stars DASHEIKS 2 CENTS: Why does this dude sound like Rebel I.N.S?, July 22, 2003

Yo, GhostFace. Remember when you said you'd approach a n***a for soundin' like you or anyone from your clan? Well this dude Afu-Ra needs some approachin'. I was lookin' for Inspector Deck on the guest star credits when i heard this dude spittin'. I can't believe this guy actually went through with the flow that he so obviously swiped from my man Rollie Fingers.
All in all, I gave this album 4 stars because it actually sounds better than Deck's new album. It's sad but true.
Please people, let's stop bitin' in Hip Hop. I mean, thats sacred rule no.1. Do not bite because it's impolite.

Peace On Earth.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different style, same talent, February 5, 2003
This review is from: Life Force Radio (Audio CD)
When Afu-Ra released his first album "Body of the Lifeforce", he put forward, not only his incredible talent but also his desire to use melodies more widely than other hip-hop artists. The blend of these two elements was an amazingly styled album with great lyrics that made sens and exited the mainstream "Die bitch bang bang" type of lyrics.
With "Lifeforce Radio", Afu-Ra extends his grasp on the style he and Jeru the Damaja now rule on, in addition to the martial art attitude that you can expect from Afu-Ra, the album also holds a few "suprises" since some songs can seem pretty commercial like "Readjustement" and "Open" but it turns out that the album is called "Lifeforce Radio". Once you understand that these songs are in the absolute spirit of actual music radios, they totally make sens and end up being very nice to listen too.
While "Body of the Lifeforce" underground, "Lifeforce Radio" while staying undergroud takes a step out into the commercial music world.
Afu-Ra probably made the few commercial songs for the fun of it, for the kick and they turn out really good and you'll probably hear them on the radio sometime.
I seriously recomend this album to anyone that enjoys hip-hop but also likes intelligent lyrics and melodies. Afu Fans dont hesitate this is Da BOMB!

2.0 out of 5 stars Afura loses his focus., May 23, 2002

This album is a flop. His last Album "Body of the Life Force" is a straight up classic joint. This album feels like it was put together a little to quickly... the songs dont have solid concepts, and the ryhmes arent as well thought out. I should have figured that this album wouldnt have the same deep, meaningful, head bopping music as his last album, just from the name, Life Froce RADIO... It only has a couple good joints, but none of them come close to the genius of his last album.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Source?, May 22, 2002

This review is from: Life Force Radio (Audio CD)
... I pop in the cd and ... i had the repeat button on for like 3 hours. I heard the cd 3 times non-stop. It's just a great cd. Tight production and a slick flow from beggining to end, this cd already get my vote for best hip-hop cd to come out this year. ...
