4.0 out of 5 stars Ginuwine strikes again
After two CDs under his belt, Ginuwine release his third and his best CD of his career so far in my opinion.. You may ask why this one is better then his previous two.. He shows a lot of maturity on this cd not only lyrically but musically.. For the first time working with a wider range of producers Timbaland is on board for one track That's How I Get Down with a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ginuwine- The Life
Well this whole album was in my opinion a dissapointment. Because after 100%, i thought that he would stick with Timbo and keep making that bouncy/ hip hop soul that made him famous. But he really shocked people when he released the phenominal, but different "Differences". Because while the song was great, it didnt sound anything like a normal G song. It sounded to...

After two CDs under his belt, Ginuwine release his third and his best CD of his career so far in my opinion.. You may ask why this one is better then his previous two.. He shows a lot of maturity on this cd not only lyrically but musically.. For the first time working with a wider range of producers Timbaland is on board for one track That's How I Get Down with a little help from Ludacris this song is one of the highlites.. The track is vintage Timbaland .. The best moments on the Cd however in my opinion are the ballads 2 Way produced by Raphael Saadiq of Tony Toni Tone fame this song remind me of a song that Tony Toni Tone could have done it has that type of feel written all over the song.. Differences which is the best of the ballads on the CD the song deals with Ginuwine telling the young lady that his playing days is over that he found that special some one that he wants to spend his life with.. Other highlites on the CD Open Arms, Why Did You Go, Tribute To Women, Role Playing.. Show After The Show the best of the uptempo cuts on the CD, There It Is .. There is also a very touching tribute to his mother and father The Reason I Cry beautifully written song.. A pretty good CD should be in your collection fan of Ginuwine or just a fan of R&b this is a must for your collection

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Best, May 7, 2001

Ginuwine's "The Life" was a great albulm. So what if Timbaland produced only one song. Sometimes an artist wants to try different sounds therefore goes to different producers. On top of that a person's life reflects his or her music. Ginuwine's obviously been through some things in his life. He's telling about it while laying down some hot tracks at the same time. And Ginuwine has matured since his other two albums; you can tell by the different lyrics in his songs. I welcome that maturity. There should be more men who are not afraid to tell how they feel about their woman. What caught my attention to buy the CD was "There It Is". It's soulful and you can still dance to it. My favorite songs are "2 way", "Differences", and "Tribute to a Woman". The whole album is nothing but the hotness. I plan to look for even better albums from Ginuwine in the future.

This review is from: Life (Audio CD)
I really love this album because it really shows how much he has evolved as an artist. I love the way he sounds so passionate when he sings. I love all the tracks on the album. I just put it in my player and walk away no need to skip around.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Life, May 17, 2005

I remember this album when I was in the 8th grade. This album is a keeper. I played this album constantly and very loud. The Life is telling us where he is from and what he does. The Life comes to him as a person. He reveals a more sentimental side of him. The album features both breathtaking ballads and up-tempo grooves, showing the different sides of Ginuwine. The album shows his true personality. This album has been certified 2x Platinum. Remember, this was 2001. I love this album and first without Tim(except on 1 track).

5.0 out of 5 stars His Best CD Yet, November 7, 2003

Ginuwine cd The Life was an interesting album. All the songs on the album were interesting and good. Not only did the album deserve five stars but every song on the album deserved five stars also. The title of the album was the perfect title because all the songs was dealing with something that went on in his life. That makes the album even better because many people can relate to the things that went on in his life to the things that they have been through or going through. In conclusion, Ginuwine The Life Cd deserves every star it gets and more.

4.0 out of 5 stars This IS the life, February 27, 2003
This review is from: Life (Audio CD)
People need to stop sleeping on Ginuwine. This is his third album, and on each one of his albums he's had at least one standout single that everyone likes. So wouldn't it make sense for people to check out the album?

Basically this album showcases G doing the kind of things we expect to hear. "There It Is" shows his attitude, getting fed up with his girl not appreciating all the things he does for her. "Tribute To A Woman" is pretty self-explanatory and is sure to win him some more female fans, and we're all familiar with the hit song "Differences", which basically talks about how much in love he is with his woman (although I'm not sure why the song is called "Differences").

But things don't always stay on the happy side. "Two Reasons I Cry" is a painful but still good song about Ginuwine missing his parents (FYI: they both died in the same year). But there are also more positive songs like the creative "Role Play", which you'll probably want the kids out of the room for. Even Diane Warren's slighty sappy "Superhuman" is a highlight.

If "2 Way" and "So Fine" weren't on this album, I wouldn't miss them. Still, this is another addition to the list of great Ginuwine albums. There's no need to ignore it any more; pick it up. And get his other two albums, too, while you're at it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good album is even better in 5.1 Surround., February 2, 2002

Ginuwine's The Life album is an excellent album, with hits like "There it Is" and "Differences", but there are many quality songs on this album. Some of these songs are "How Deep is Your Love", "That's how I get Down", "Role Play", etc. This album is even better in the 5.1 Surround sound that Super Audio CD allows. You hear the instruments better, the notes more clearer. It's excellent. A problem that I have with this album is with the song "There It Is", because the version on the SACD album is the clean version. However, the album, itself is not all edited. "That's How I get Down" is in its unedited glory. Nevertheless, it is an album worth getting if you own a Super Audio CD player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another dope album from Ginuwine!, April 3, 2001
This review is from: Life (Audio CD)
Damn! Can this man make a bad album? I don't think so, cuz this album is HOT! He works with different producers on this album so it sounds a lot more sophisticated and diverse. His lyrics are heartfelt and real, and the music is off tha hook of course! So far my favorites are "2 Way", "Why Not Me", "There It Is", "Just Because" and "Differences". But then again every song on this album is dope! If you liked his first 2 lp's I'm 100% postive you'll like this one. DON'T SLEEP!!! COP THIS ALBUM!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Class, October 26, 2002
This review is from: Life (Audio CD)
Third CD from Ginuwine, it includes alot of ballads and some up-tempo songs aswell. A wonderful album with many great songs, he's simply one of the best soul singers today. "Open Arms" "Superwoman" "How deep is your love" and the great hit "Differences" stands for great ballads with lot of soul and passion. "Just Because" "So Anxious" and "That's How I Get Down" are among the faster tracks. Ginuwine can make every song worth listening to with his great voice. There are no explicit lyrics on this Cd neither, makes his message even more reliable when most songs are about love and relationship. There isn'really so much to say about this Cd cause i think most stuff is good about it.
