Trae is back yet again,
By
This review is from: Life Goes on (Audio CD)
Trae returns with his 2nd album of 2007, and 3rd in a 15 month period. Of his 3 albums I own, this is in the middle, slightly below "Restless" and slightly better than "Tha Truth Show". As usual the better tracks on here are the deeper more personal ones, he seems to make them rather well, but you get some nice gangsta tracks and a few party ones as well. With 14 songs on here, you get guests on 9 of the 14, so guests are rather heavy, and I was surprised no Z-Ro, Scarface, or UGK but oh well you still get a few good ones on here. Of the 14 songs. 1 is a classic, a few are real good and the majority are average or slightly above average. Production is decent but nothing real special. Nova & Info do 4 songs, Mr. Lee does 2, and Maj & Sosa, Drew, Q Stone, Mike Dean, Sean T, Mr. Rogers, Nitti and Platinum Hands all do 1 song.
#1 - 8 (f/ Young Joc & Gorilla Zoe) #2 - 9 (nice beat) #4 - 7.5 (f/ Lil Wayne -- better w/o him as I'm not a big fan of Lil Wayne) #5 - 8.5 (f/ 2Pac (a verse from "Deadly Combination") #7 - 8 (f/ Slim Thug) #8 - 9 (f/ L. Boogie - deeper song with nice beat) #9 - 8.5 (f/ Styles & Jadakiss -- also on his "Tha Truth Show" album but w/o Jadakiss) #12 - 8.5 (dedication to Big Hawk) #13 - 7 #15 - 8 (f/ Rich Boy & Lloyd) #16 - 8 (f/ Jayton & Lil Boss) #17 - 8 #18 - 8 (f/ Jody Breeze) #19 - 10 (CLASSIC -- deep song with a great beat) Frazier Thompson -- b. ~1981 -- Houston, TX Check all my reviews

A Wide range,

About as good as Restless. A few tracks to ride to, some club beat tracks, & then some great deep tracks. Huge bass in the trunk if thats what your into. I was a little shocked that there wasn't a track with Z-Ro, UGK, or Billy Cook, but he still delivers. Still a great album to own.

trae da truth,
This review is from: Life Goes on (Audio CD)
Trae does it again. I didn't think he could follow "Restless" up with a cd even in it's ballpark. "Life Goes On" holds its own. It's got club bangers, smooth tracks to ride to, and some deep stuff too. The production on these last 2 albums has been outstanding. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
