This series of Bent books on the life histories of birds is simply unsurpassed for details on birds lives, from nesting to migration. They all cover the same format on each bird and Mr. Bent relies on a large group of "correspondents" for additional observations of the bird in different locations. They are fascinating studies of the bird. Once you pick up one on a bird that interests you, you will return to the series over and over. We have relied on them for everything from migration times to incubation times to nest locations. I am fortunate that my library has most of the volumes, I only had to buy this one. I wish I had them all!
