A genuine treasure. Anita describes the symptoms of panic disorder with and without agoraphobia and includes effective treatment approaches. -- Michelle M. Carter, Ph.D. Dept. of Psychology, The American University

I was very impressed how Anita incorporated scientific information from the well-respected National Institute of Mental Health. -- William D. Kernodle, MD, Tucker Psychiatric Clinic, Inc. author, Panic Disorder, The Medical Point of View

Skillful, gut-level and inspirational writing elevates this book beyond the academic, boring polemic we are so used to. Highly recommended. -- Stanley Gurman, MD

Social Welfare at CA State University Northridge. At the age of 26 she became disabled as the result of a snowballing of anxiety that began when she was only 13 years old and that left her unable to leave her apartment. Agoraphobic to some degree for a few years, Anita began writing. This review is from: Life Isn't Just a Panic: Stories of Hope by Recovering Agoraphobics (Paperback)
I am very impressed with the editor of this book, Anita L. Pace. I think she is quite courageous--- much more than maybe she knows. Courageous in part for putting together this book. I think it is wonderful that there are first person accounts of living with Agoraphobia in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those who do not understand the disease of Panic Disorder, August 29, 2009

This review is from: Life Isn't Just a Panic: Stories of Hope by Recovering Agoraphobics (Paperback)
I wrote a part of this wonderful book and because these stories are from the hearts of both victims and family and loved ones, they make this book unique.
If you have a loved one who is suffering from panic disorder, here is a book that provides you with an opportunity to understand and be more of more support.
Many of us who suffer from this condition not only have to suffer the illness's devastating effects, but also the stigma of the condition.
