5.0 out of 5 stars Great game!
My wife and I loved this game. The instructions seemed very hard to grasp at first and I can't imagine kids playing this game for the first time without parental help. After the confusing first game, my wife and I had a blast and we can't get enough of it. It's just good fun and a great twist to "life". If you are expecting to play this game with more than two people,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rock Star Life
The Rock Star Life graphics are very busy and extremely hard to read. You also need to read through the direction several times to understand them. I haven't played the Game of Life in years but I don't remember the instructions being this difficult.

If you are expecting to play this game with more than two people, learn the game first and then teach others else it will be a little hard to pick up the "fun" pace.

My kids love playing the game of life, so I bought them this! It was a cool twist on the original game.

We found this version in stores not long ago. I thought, cool, a Game of Life with a rockstar type theme, that could be fun. This was after purchasing the recent remake of the old Game of Life, where they got rid of insurance and added those annoying Life Tile things. I figured, anything could be better than that.

Unfortunately, it was worse. All they did was change the artwork from the remake version of the Game of Life and jack the price up $10, without even bothering to change any of the rules. Instead of babies, you get fans. Instead of getting married, you follow the same exact rules for marriage in the remake, only it's now called 'getting your first record' or something. The board is laid out in almost exactly the same way as the remake, the jobs are essentially the same, but with different titles/artwork (lead guitarist instead of doctor, for example) (although none of the jobs in the Rockstar version have a max salary cap like in the remake), and you know how the Game of Life has a police career that earns money when a 10 is spun? If I remember right, the Bongo Player now has that distinction. Why the Bongo Player? Because all they did was change the names and pictures from the remake of the Game of Life and kept all the exact same rules.

If you like the remake, then you might like this version, but they didn't do enough (or really anything) to actually seperate it from the remake except sell it at a higher price.
