Good deal on last years model, about $55 including shipping which now retails for about $90 . Easy to set up and get going. The cars are amazingly fast and stick to the track really well, almost makes you dizzy watching them. The only difference between last year's model and this year's was was the paint scheme on the cars.

The Life Like Teammate challenge from Walthers is a very good race set. The cars are really fast and the track seems very durable. The track will also run AFX, Hot Wheels (Tyco), Auto World, and other Slot Cars. The T-Chassis Fast Tracker slot cars that come with the track are some of the fastest that I have had the pleasure of racing. The Customer Service at Walthers (this company bought life like in 2005.) Is second to none. I also own a Life Like train set that is very good. I would highly recommend Life Like products and the Teammate Challenge set.

These slot-cars have become a prized possession of my 4 1/2-year old nephew, who has not only mastered the car-racing skills, but is able to race competitively against me (34 years).

The good things (generally) about this racing set, are namely the thrill of live motion, physics of speed and more importantly competition. Its' a nice break from the digital game consoles that simulate much more detailed scenarios within gaming. I'd surely recommend this to children of all ages.

Please note, this is the only Slot-car set I've ever seen, or experienced, so this review could perhaps be viewed more of a general slot-car review rather than the exact product it belongs to.

Was easy to assemble. My 5 year old Grandson loves it. The car does run off the track until you learn how to control it going around the corners. We'll probably order the extension for the track if it holds up like we think it will. Would purchase again.

Takes a little to get used controlling the speed around the corners, but for the price this is the best set you'll find. Bought it for my four year old son and he was able to figure out how to control the speed. I highly recommend this track set.

got this for our 3 1/2 year old for Christmas and he just loves it. The cars will fly off the track if they go too fast, but he has learned how to control the speed on the corners now, didn't take him long to figure it out. Also, he thinks it is pretty funny when they do fly off, so not a big deal really.

This toy for a eight year old and above is perfect.This is a toy that can give many hours of enjoyment.It does require skill to play.This is something that is developed over the time while being palyed.This is not a teddy bear.The cars are of better quality than of years ealier,60's ,70's the track is also much better that the older ones.The some folks complain that it worked great for about a month.Is like saying the car ran good but after 20,000 miles without a oil change and now the car is not running as smooth?The tracks need minor maintenance because they get clogged with dust,lint and the cars too.They should also be oiled.The tracks need to be cleaned or the contacts don't make for good conducting.In all if you expect the toy to run flawlessly you need to really think of it like a hobby and not a toy.I think an eight year old boy is ready to make that distinction.Anyway it builds character to own something you like and take care of.Hope you all agree.The toy or the "hobby race set" is teriffic fun!See for yourself.

I bought this for my son and he was very dissapointed. It arrived broken and was very poorly made. It seemed like a very cheap reproduction of the race tracks of old. Poorly made, poor quality. Can't believe the price on this track. This is dollar store quality, certainly not worth the price I paid for it, or the hassle I had trying to return it.

I actually got this track for my husband for Christmas. He was able to set it up without much trouble and was playing in a short amount of time. We have six children, so I knew that at some time, they would all try it out too. They have all had fun racing daddy. My son especially likes when he makes them go too fast on a turn and they fly off the track. It has held up pretty well. Both cars' spoilers have broken off from too many crashes. One of the cars is having a little trouble because the two-year old kept trying to push it by hand. I think the gears are getting stripped. Other than that, it has worked great.

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my children. It was fun for a couple of weeks, now we can't get it to work.
