I'd live in sound if I could!, January 9, 1999

You may remember that Dig broke out of obscurity and into the MTV Buzz Bin with their 1993 hit "Believe". When I was at the used record store recently I came across a copy of their first, self-titled album, which contained that song. I said, "what the hell" and picked it up. I'm very glad I did. So when I was given the opportunity to hear Dig's new album "Life Like" I jumped at the chance. Scott Hackwith & Co. have more or less erased every last trace of their grunge roots (except for the album's final track "Comfortable") and replaced it with a slickly-produced power pop sound. This is definitely one of the best albums I've heard recently. It's a good buy.
