this is a good little starter train set. nice size for young ones, easy to add to. good price on amazon, too! our grandson loves his and he's 5.

I purchased this for my 6 year old grandson. The track is difficult to set up on a carpet but if you use a solid surface (I used a sheet of luan) it goes together easily. If you assemble and disassemble the tracks multiple times you may lose the small clips that make electrical connections between the tracks. I had to solder two of the tracks together, but it was easy to do. The electrical connections to the track from the transformer are exposed so you will need to use tape or shrink tubing to cover them. The locomotive is very powerful and should pull alot of cars without a problem. Also, it lights up, a treat for a train at this price. The cars couple easily. My grandson ran the train at full speed in forward and reverse and it stayed on the track without any problem. This is a great starter train.
