Dunford speaks to every birder, from novice to life-lister in this book. Engaging, spiritually enlightening, with hints of science, this is a great read. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys the creatures of this earth, or who ask those great cosmic questions about how we're all related.

The book Life List by Chris Dunford was a window into the world of a birder. I loved the description of his journey north into Canada to see the birds there and to, hopefully, add to his Life List of birds that he has seen and heard. I liked the descriptions of the serenity and solitude that can be found there. As a novice birder, I enjoyed the first-hand description of how a bird is recognized even if you cannot see it and only hear it. Also, the network of other birder's that exists out there was a surprise. But some of the most interesting parts of the book were the personal stories about his family life.
