5.0 out of 5 stars To Life, To Love!, July 10, 2005
This review is from: To Life! To Love!: In Poetry and Prose, A Spiritual Memoir (Paperback)

TO LIFE/TO LOVE is a JOY

These poems and mantras feel to me like responses to many of my own poems and prayers, some of them in very direct ways, reverberations of the same song. Artists are honored in the communion between each other's children.

Also, the cover is glorious. This is my favorite cover of your (the author's) books along with the photograph you took that is the awesome cover for ABRAHAM, THE DREAMER. The cloud sky is lovely for SPARKS OF SPIRIT, too, but this one is the most inviting, with those great friendly colors and you (the author) standing their like a playful sage sparking child wisdom and love and joy for everyone to come and play and pray with you. Marvelous.

What matters is you (the author), the poet/sage, standing in a posture of complete joy and openness to life and love. This picture of you embodies the title completely. You look like a skinny Tevye at a wedding feast. I'll bet this book makes God smile all over. And it will be such a great help to many, many souls.

Thank you for cranking out your literary children through iUniverse with such diligence. I can't wait to get back to completing my own birth processes with the universe! Your newest work gives me lots of energy to do that, just by looking at the cover! Of course, every time I open it, there will be joy upon joy leaping up to greet me. Thank you for this work that will go on giving joy for many generations to come.

The Rev. Alla Renée Bozarth,Ph.D., Episcopal priest and author/poet, At the Foot of the Mountain, Life is Goodbye/Life is Hello:Grieving Well through All Kinds of Loss, This Is My Body, The Mortal Marriage, Accidental Wisdom

5.0 out of 5 stars wow...Wow...WOW!!!, July 8, 2005
By
This review is from: To Life! To Love!: In Poetry and Prose, A Spiritual Memoir (Paperback)
Rolf has long been my teacher, mentor, and friend. He and I share writing tips and challenges and best of all the finished products of our loves and labors. When he presented me with a brand new copy of his book, "To Life! To Love!" all I could say was "wow, Wow, WOW!" This memoir is the best of everything he has written. Why? Because it includes much of what he has written and it is all good. As I reviewed the chapter topics and styles of writing I knew I would be in for a treat. Rolf's heart is as big as the universe. He has led a dynamic life, learned many lessons, and thankfully has the skill to share them with us. I will keep this book through my own life journey, sure to refer to its wisdom for years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Inspiring, July 19, 2005

It's so nice to read something so honest and real. I really loved the poem titled, "Soft." It deals with the kind of personal and professional issues all writers can relate to. Gompertz's writing is important and inspiring.
