More do-nuts,
By A Customer
This review is from: Life is More Than a Box of Doughnuts (Paperback)
This book is a humorous, and sometimes, touching look at the perceptions of a working police officer toward all of the wonderful people and situations he encounters. Stowe shares a wide variety of stories displaying all the vagaries of human nature as seen from the police viewpoint. Stowe tells us of the wonderful "dumb crook" examples, and of the pain in dealing with the loss of a police officer in the line of duty. We get a look at the world through a different set of eyes-but these eyes tend to twinkle in delight.

Stowe does a masterful job of making us laugh. Reality is stranger than fiction. A great book to pick up for a few minutes and come back to later. His hometown style brings the stories to life.

I really like Ron's book...so matter of fact...written so anyone can understand and enjoy. Funny, and yet sad in many ways.I particularly liked the stories of his co-workers and about his Dad. I would recomend all readers to buy this book, and enjoy!

Life is More Than a Box of Doughnuts by Ron Stowe is a joy and delight! It is down-to-earth, tongue in cheek humor about people who happen to find themselves in trouble with the law. I especially liked DWHUB (page 18)! Not only does Ron give us kind humor, he also shows great compassion, concern and care for the people he serves. Anyone who has ever been a cop, ever known a cop, ever cared about a cop, or ever talked to a cop will be enriched and entertained by this book. A beautiful gift for everyone and suitable for all audiences! Gail Cauble Gurley, author

I really enjoyed this book by a local policeman and author. He has a gift for story telling that makes you feel as if you are there. The best part was the way it is arranged in collections of short stories. Great for people who don't have time to sit down and read for long periods of time. I highly recommend it for people in all walk's of life.

This book has a series of stories that will have you laughing all the way to the bank. You will read about stories such as the criminal that is charged with a hit and run case but left the bumper of his car laying on the ground, with the lisence plate still on it! This is a definate buy. You can not find a better Christmas gift around. I can promise you that!
