About the Author

I am currently a Fourth Grade Teacher in the Dickinson, ND Public Schools. I have been teaching for seventeen years. My husband, Cal and I have two grown sons. Brian, and his wife Julie, are on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. Matt, is a Law student at the University of Minnesota.

I grew up in a strong, nurturing, Christian family in Iowa and consider my parents as wonderful role models. My church, St. John Evangelical Lutheran, is very important in my life. Before I became a teacher, I worked at St. John's as the Minister of Education and Visitation. I've also been a Sunday School teacher, served on the Parish Education Committee and am currently the co-president of our women's group. I also consider it a privilege to serve as an assisting minister on a regular basis at St. John's.

The book I wrote, My Life, My Thoughts, is a compilation of journal writing ideas that I've used with my students. It's been fun to see them create lasting memories of their childhood. My hope is that by encouraging children to write they will record the events that shape their lives.

I am a homeschooling mom of 4 and I bought this journal for my oldest daughter. When she writes, she tends to be creative, but silly. The entry pages aren't too long for her and the topics at the top of each page give her direction. They help her think of different situations and feelings that she would not think to address on her own.
