Book Description

December 27, 2011

In the wild world of Beverly Hills, high-priced glam squads, flashy cars, and off-the-charts drama are the norm. Enter Kyle Richards: born and raised in the nation’s most dazzling neighborhood, she’s practically royalty in the 90210 zip code. And yet her loving family life, lack of pretention (no nannies, stylists, or personal chefs for this diva), and “girls’ girl” attitude make her a breath of fresh air on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Now, she’s revealing how she achieves that perfect mix of celebrity and normality. In this collection of the best tips, advice, and strategies she knows, Kyle’s talking friend to friend so you can create that blend of glitz and know-how in your own life:

Family
Kyle’s a hands-on parent who shares how she’s raising her four daughters to be self-sufficient, compassionate, and—above all—not spoiled. (Kyle grew up in a family of all women with her extraordinary mother teaching all the children her unique take on life.)

Men
Being married to Mauricio, a devoted husband and wonderful father, Kyle is often asked what makes a happy and lasting marriage. She shares all of her best advice for keeping a marriage strong and, for single women, how to find the perfect partner.

Hair
Would you believe those famously luscious locks are courtesy of drugstore shampoo? Turns out Beverly Hills style doesn’t have to cost a fortune!

Beauty
Kyle’s beauty routine is practical and never too trendy. She shares her secrets for choosing the best lip glosses, blushes, creams, and cleansers, and explains how you can look gorgeous even if you’re on a budget. (Her tips on applying glam-inducing false eyelashes alone are a must read.)

Entertaining
After years of soirees fit for the Hollywood elite, Kyle knows what it takes to throw a party your friends will talk about for years...without breaking the bank.

Childhood memories, tales from behind the scenes of The Real Housewives, warm and hilarious family stories—Kyle’s sharing all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money December 31, 2011
By Scout
Format:Kindle Edition
I seriously think all the positive reviews on this "book" must be personal friends of Kyle's. My friend bought this book and warned me it was crap but I had to see for myself. Any advise in this book is like duh not ha. This book read like something written by someone who has nothing to share so she writes about using Pantene to wash her hair. Seriously I can't believe this got published. if you want to read the truth about Big Kathy; Kyle's mom, read the book House of Hilton instead

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money December 29, 2011
By Renee
Format:Hardcover
I eagerly waited for this book to be released and I find myself thinking what a waste of money. There is nothing insightful in this book and who was her editor to allow her to "ha ha" non stop. I am not sure what her purpose was in writing this book because it is just a mix of garbled thoughts about finding your true mate, advice from her mother on men even though she had been married four times. I don't think anyone who was married four times can give any informative advice. Where are the details of life in Beverley Hills and how to live there whilst remaining true to yourself. All her "gems of wisdom" are coined catch phrases from the self help books or tv shows that we have all heard before. This book is a waste of money and we do not need another celebrity trying to spin their own handbags and skin care .... please oh please.. because they cannot find anything chic and affordable. I wish they would just admit that it is a money marketing enterprise whilst they have their 15 minutes of fame.

1.0 out of 5 stars No surprises January 3, 2012
Format:Hardcover
I skimmed through this book while sipping coffee at my local bookstore and I am glad I didn't purchase it. I can honestly say that I wasn't at all surprised. I have seen The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I was 100% prepared for the shallow, vapid content of this book.

First off, the book is incredibly annoying to read with the multitude of "ha ha's" that litter literally every page! I am actually amazed that any editor allowed this because it seems so amateurish--not to mention irritating. I did have a good laugh while reading about Kyle passing along advice from "Big Kath" (her mom)--now there's a great source on advice for relationships (hello? married FOUR times!).

I am actually annoyed at our entire society for becoming so enamored by people like Kyle Richards, Paris Hilton, and (most of all) Kim Kardashian, who seize their 15 minutes and try every trick in the book to milk every bit they can out of it--by indulging in fake marriages, releasing sex tapes, or writing advice books. Oy vey!

I'm so sick of reality television and its reality "stars." They really embarrass us as a people. And if we quit watching/participating/feeding into the frenzy--then they WILL go away.

I do not recommend this book. Amazon is filled with hundreds of thousands--if not millions--of wonderful books to enrich your mind, heart, and soul. This is not one of them. It's honestly not even entertaining, so save your hard-earned dollars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible! January 9, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Do not waste your money on this book.
I'm embarrassed to say I started to read this.
I couldn't get past the "haha" comments. Extremely unprofessional.

The first reviews must have been written from family and friends. If you read the five star reviews, they signed up w/ first names: "Amelia, Stacee, Martina, Halley, Allison". Is that just a coincidence? I wonder if they all have the same IP.

This woman thinks she's something special. She is not.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy - save your money! January 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoy RHOBH, and Kyle, but her book is awful. I expected insight into the show and their lives - but it's geared more towards VERY young women looking for a man (from the dark ages, no less). Extremely disappointing and I can't even bring myself to finish reading it, it's so boring!

This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write, on anything. That's how disappointed I am. Wish I could get my money back.

Sorry Kyle...
