Justifide-Life Outside to Toybox,
By Candace (Lake Stevens, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Life Outside the Toybox (Audio CD)
I had never heard Justifide till I say them in concert with Skillet and Pillar, and I fell in love with their music! It grabs your attention from the opening note. They have poweful lyrics with a powerful message. Not only was the music phenomonal, but so are they. I got to talk with them, and they are fun lovin cool guys that are totally real. I reccomend this CD to someone who likes good hard christian rock with their latino roots in the mix.

A Must have. They're amazing, they have cool tunes and great lyrics. This is a great cd, if you are looking for a rock album without swear words in it. They're Christian too!!! This is an awesome CD for teens who like to praise God in a more aggressive way. (In A good Aggressive way.)This Cd is worth every penny you've got!!!

Blowin' the Lid off the Toybox!,

I was a skeptic. Yeah, yeah, another Christian group trying to capitalize on the success of P.O.D. (a band I do actually appreciate). But I figured, what the heck, I'll give it a try...So I ordered it through my music club, hoping, oh please oh please, that for once I'd find a group that didn't sound like another set of wannabees. Or a band with a major ax to grind with every authority figure in sight. (Not that a little grinding is bad, but the attitude can only get you so far, right?)The CD arrived a week ago. I liked the cover art, but the insert photos seemed a little poser-ish, and, as I suspected, these guys had toured with P.O.D. in the past. That could be a good thing. Or a sign of cheap copycats. I stuck the CD in the player and within two songs, I had stopped doing other things and decided to take this music seriously. Reading through the lyrics and checkin' out the musical chops, I was impressed. Yes, it's true, they do have hints of Creed, P.O.D., and even a song that harkens back to classic Pearl Jam sounds, but overall the album refuses to fit into any one of those boxes. Instead, Justifide kicks out of the toybox and decide to be themselves. And the songs have things worth saying...or yelling, as the need may be. This is one of my favorites now. And I can't get the disc out of my CD player!
