I HEART 5 DAYS AHEAD,
By Dave Lovett (Milford, Delaware USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: As Life Passes You By (Audio CD)
5 Days Ahead is a band that rocks the East Coast and the West Coast at the same time. The CD "As Life Passes You By" is one of the best CD's I ever bought. It ranges from Pop-Punk, Emo, & blends of screamo. Chris Lawrence is one of my favorite song writters which he proves why on this CD, he writes from songs about heart break to having a great time with your friends. My favorite song on the CD would have to be the song "Afraid To Say This" which you can hear the acoustic verson on the Pumpkineater Records Comp. If you have extra money pick up "Broken Dreams and Pictures Of You" which is the first CD by this band. I own both and there isnt a day that I dont rock out to them both.(...)

great vocals, lyrics, and tight diverse songs,
By Miller (Milford, DE) - See all my reviews

while these guys aren't the most innovative emo band to hit the scene, you still can't deny the catchiness of their songs and the broad vocal range, and conviction that singer chris lawrence (who, btw, does stay in key..) brings to them, particularly w/ the falsetto vocal lines in 'afraid to say this' which are also backed by honest eloquent lyrics. Plus for all you zolof fans (i'm not a fan in particular, but, i think i'm the minority)there's a duet between the lovely rachel minton and chris lawrence which is pretty amazing. If you're an avid emocore fan, this album won't disappoint.

famous last words,
By shaun jordan (allentown, pa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: As Life Passes You By (Audio CD)
I have heard a lot of new punk bands, but there is something different about 5 days ahead. something just caught me that the other 9,000,000 bands lacked. Famous last words is probably the best song of this album, but don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the rest of the album. Good buy, but don't take my word or anyone elses word for it, buy it if you like it, not cuz someone else said it was cool!!!

Awesome stuff,

This CD has one of the most unique sounds out there. It sort of reminds me of Finch in spots, and I can see why some people compared this CD to them. I think it's definately catchy, keeping their own sound. I look forward to hearing more from this band in the future.

Awsome,
This review is from: As Life Passes You By (Audio CD)
I used to be really into the whole pop punk scene, but then i began to like more hardcore stuff. I was just recently looking on purevolume for music to download, and I came across these guys in the screamo section. I listend to the song they had up to download and was amazed, by the music. Everything about this band is awsome, the guitar, drums, and vocals are perfect. The guy has a great singing voice that should be heard by everyone. The best song by them is "Famous Last Words", it's a great mix of screamo, emo, and pop- punk. If you like New Found Glory, Rufio, Blink 182, or any of the other related bands, this is a band you'll want to hear again and again. Buy it now, you won't be sorry.

what a bunch of garbage,

This review is from: As Life Passes You By (Audio CD)
its a shame i wasted my money on this piece of $hit album. 1 word comes to mind while listening to this garbage POSERS. Take my advice and pass on this or else you will have an 11 dollar coaster for your drinks. If you want to hear what this band sounds like turn on any poser radio station or mtv and you'll hear a number of unoriginal bands... now times that by 20 and add the crap factor and you get "5 posers ahead".

Buy this CD, now!,

There are certain CDs that you listen to again and again. No matter how many CDs you have in your collection or MP3s you have downloaded, you keep listening to the same one over and over again. It goes from your discman, to the stero in your car, to your CD player. This is one of those CDs. The heartfelt songs stay with you and not in that annoying pop way. The songs are heartfelt, but not annoyingly emo. 5 Days Ahead is influenced by some of the best bands out there, and you can tell that by listening to their newest CD. So get off you ...., work an extra shift and buy this amazing CD.

So funny that the drummer has to write the review,
By A Customer
This review is from: As Life Passes You By (Audio CD)
I am cracking up here...Besides the band [being bad] and all, I notice that the drummer wrote a review for his own band surprisingly enough giving it 5 stars!!! It is so funny too how he actually refers to HIS band by saying "I am sure these guys are going places" etc, etc...So for all you who do not know this band, please take heed to what I write...For God's sake, if the own drummer has to give the only decent review something must be not worth listening to

If you are looking for the same old mtv cheese pop punk he is sooooo cute boyband stuff then this album is for you. Bands like 5 days ahead are a dime a dozen. if you want to hear them just turn on any bad pop punk song and behold 5 days ahead. Vocals are out of key. Guitars sound like cheese. Lyrics are imature. you hear the same 4 chords in just about every song. Don't wate your money 5 days ahead is not a beautiful and unique snowflake. cheers.
