I HIGHLY recommend the Life Recovery Bible. I have been a Christian for over 30 years and the New Living Translation has enabled me to understand the Bible in a whole new way. It was written in such a way so that it flows naturally and can be read easily outloud. I have never loved the Old Testament as much as I do now, after purchasing and using the Life Recovery Bible for several years.

The devotionals included in the Life Recovery Bible are worth buying this book, even if you don't want another Bible to use. I have given many of these Bibles out as gifts to friends dealing with all sorts of issues including depression, addictions, etc. Everyone I know that has one, LOVES it!

This is a Bible for someone who wants to grow and change. The devotionals are inspiring and motivating as well as encouraging. God has used this Bible greatly in my life and everyone I know who has one.

Anyone involved in a 12 step program can gain so much from this translation and cross-reference Bible. It is very easy to get in a rut and become vulnerable to taking everything worked so hard for right into complacency and failure. The Bible is easy to read and understand in modern English. The cross reference helps keep recovery fresh and vital on a daily basis and gives the reader new ways of sharing the love and growth of recovery with those coming into a new way of living. It has helped me in meditation,with new insights shared with peers and is very important in my daily life now.

For anyone going through recovery or has spent their entire life "covering up family issues", this is the book to read. It's helped me understand that God is truly a loving God and provide me with examples of how to heal and apply his work to the now.

I recieved by first Life Recovery Bible as a gift in 1996, My life has never been the same since that time. I fell in love with Jesus and came to know him as my Lord and Saviour. If you desire a clearer understanding of the word of God, this bible is for you. This bible will change and alter your life forever. This is a valuable tool which also offers daily devotional , twelve steps recovery. It simply deals with life situations, such as worry, jeaulousy, injustice, family and so much more. This is a must have for your christian growth.

This Bible is an EXCELLENT tool for a spiritual interface with my 12-Step accountability group. It references each Step to biblical illustrations and is helpful in letting us see that the "greats" in the Bible are sinners just like us. This version (NLT) is easy to read and understand and encourages you to read the next illustration to enhance your learning of the current Step you are working on. The accountability group loves this version of the Bible.

2 people I know have this bible and carry it everywhere they go. I gave it to a girl recovering from addiction. The memos and commentary on the side of the Bible passages are excellent. A lot of "food for thought".
If you are in recovery or have a friend who is, it is a great gift.
I also enjoy reading it, it is very easy to comprehend and very helpful divine inspiration.

Most of us have heard of the "Recovery Bible," but few have taken a look inside of it. I was incredibly surprised as I began to work through the pages and realized, "We're ALL in Recovery!!!" This is not a Bible just for the alcoholic or drug addict; this is a Bible designed for anyone who has sinned. So that means ALL of us. The Recovery Bible has now become my "main" study Bible. Why? Each Book of the Bible begins with a detailed "Big Picture," that presents an overview of each Book. This isn't your typical "intro" to a book of the Bible. It provides the groundwork for the reasons God has given us each particular Book of the Bible. Then there's the "Bottom Line," where you are given the overall purpose and lesson for the book. Even more informative were the detailed writings on the "characters" that played part in the Bible. Throughout each Book you are given insight as to what the characters struggled with, their weaknesses and strengths, how they came into fellowship with God, and how they came to be used by God for greater purposes. I was enthralled by the "footnotes" on each page that held priceless knowledge and insight into so many of the Scriptures.

The "Life Recovery Bible" truly "speaks." You can't help but read through one page and hear God's voice. The writers of this Bible have truly been used by God to reach a hurting world that is desperate for Him. I only wish that I had received this Bible from someone when I was starting out in my Christian walk. It is the best gift you can give to a Prodigal or someone desiring to deepen their faith. I HIGHLY recommend this Bible!

The Life Recovery Bible is so helpful in the Spirituality of the 12 Step Program. First we come to know God, then we thirst for more about who He is, therefore, the Life Recovery Bible. It explains all the Steps and different inserts according to the Holy Bible. Excellent for those who are willing to go further in Recovery.

I bought this for my wife. We are both in 12 Step programs. One night, I "borrowed" it and read though several of the helps, the topics, etc. I was amazed at the quality of this study Bible. It has some wonderful notes and features! And, the easy read of the modern translation really helps. If I have questions, I can always check in my other study Bibles or commentaries. Great resource for those in 12 Step or other Recovery Programs. Nice way to "improve our conscious contact with God."

I used this Bible in our Men's AV meetings and it has work extremely welll for men who are deal with recovery and want a spiritual approach to their recovery. The use of this Bible helps to bring a spiritual element that is not in the AA meetings.
