I bought 2 of these Bibles, one for me & one for my Step-Son. My Step-Son is in rehab for drug & alcohol addiction/abuse. He had seen this Bible while he was in prison and wanted one. I have read 3 versions of the Bible all the way through and wanted to read this one, too. I really like this Bible because it is written in easy to understand, modern everyday language. I love the notes on the side of the pages and also at the bottom. This helps clarify what is being read. This Bible could be read & understood by anyone. It's almost in a storybook version and this style makes it very interesting. If anyone has ever wanted to read the Bible all the way through, but found it too difficult, this would be the Bible to read. I feel that everyone has issues, not just recovering alcoholics/drug addicts. This Bible helps us all to look at our lives and address all issues that would keep us from following the life Christ would have us to lead. I can't wait to read this Bible every morning! It is truly wonderful and I recommend it to everyone of all ages.

Outstanding Bible for anyone in recovery and really, pretty good for those who aren't.

Commentary and reflection on the steps brings out the Spiritual prinicipals of recovery in a way that is clear and brings the Bible to life.

The character studies of Principal Bible characters is great in that it lets you see that people like David, Samuel, Elijah etc were normal people with addictions, dysfunctional families etc., but they still were able to find purpose and accomplish much with their lives. Whenever I am tempted to be discouraged, I find reading through one of these vignettes lists my spirits and gives me hope.

I was tempted to give it a 4, only because my copy has a missing page with a double printed page, but really, if that is all I have to complain about then I've done pretty well.

Use this Bible primarily for personal devotions and reading. Not the best for use at your Church as you'll easily be distracted by all the material present and not pay attention like you should! ;)

IT MAKES UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE A WHOLE LOT EASIER AND IT RELATES TODAYS ISSUES IN RECOVERY WITH THE ISSUES IN THOSE DAYS. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL TOOL AND I RECCOMEND IT TO EVERYONE WHETHER YOU ARE IN RECOVERY OR NOT.

This version is brilliant in its easy to understand passages, and how they relate to real life. There are references and each chapter and verse relate to the bigger theme. This bible talks 'to' you, rather than 'at' you and before you know it... serenity! I have the full size version and well, and this personal size makes it so easy to take everywhere.

The Life Recovery Bible is the best translation I have ever read, it has helped me to discover things about myself that I wouldn't have been able to find out any other way. The best part about it is that it says it in a manner I can relate to and understand. It's great, we give these bibles away to folks at our recovery groups.

This Bible is a translation by a collective group of biblical scholars of many denominations. It is a flowing, dynamic translation that remains true to the original language as exegeted to modern language. It is a great simplified version of the Bible in a very readable form that has tremendous 12-step insights related to the word of God. A great gift for a Christian in recovery to link his or her faith to the 12 steps.

This Bible was purchased for a friend who shared with me recently how much he was enjoying his study in it. A family member received one of these Life Recovery Bibles for a Christmas gift and thoroughly enjoys it. The Bible is need specific and helps the reader understand the Bible with a fresh perspective.

The Bible was received in excellent condition and in a very timely manner.

The Life Recovery Bible is one of my favorites because it's written in plain english. I also enjoy the summaries found at the bottom of each page because they are thought provoking. The recovery themes help to bring worries into proper perspective.

This Bible is very good for those in recovery. It is best when used in a recovery group setting and there are leaders who help you work through the recovery steps and verses. The NLT translation is very easy to understand and this Bible will also help in other parts of your life.
