Nicely laid out. There are over a hundred sections that deal with recovery issues. Each day of your bible study takes you to a new verse and then commentary. It goes through the recovery steps one at a time before moving onto different verses/commentary that support the next steps. Also easy to read. if you choose to only study your bible 5 minutes at a time you'll get a lot out of it... no other bible I've seen allows you to study so little. To date, I have sent 13 Life Recovery Bibles to my son, who is in a rehab program in northern California. He has found the Lord again, and has embraced recovery through a 12 step program. He has requested the Bibles to give to others in his program seeking recovery. This is an amazing, blessed tool for anyone seeking Him.

As a hospital chaplain working largely with Dual Diagnosis patients I find the Recovery very helpful. Very important is that the book gives Bible references for each of the 12 steps in the "12 Step Program". Then, there are many very helpful articles throughout the book helping the patients apply Scriptural principles to their problems.

I hadn't read the Bible since youth, so this wonderfully-organized edition was a timely gift for me and, I believe, many others who are going through the pain, effort and joy of a 12 step recovery. Written in contemporary English, with many side bars and references to other chapters and verses pertinent to specific step-work, this version of the original "Big Book" lacks the elegance of the St. James or other traditional editions.{ I have a purloined Gideons to check the authenticity of this modern newcomer] It is,however,a no-nonsense work resource for those seeking the relationships,commonalities and divergences between the Bible and the principles of the 12 step approach. If you prefer to read in chronological sequence, you may, but to do so would miss the purpose of the structure the editors provide. Similar to those on the Internet, the sidebars provide "wormholes" to explore the universe of the Bible in a thematic manner. In any case, whether one is a focused researcher or simply lacks the discipline and fortitude to plod through a traditional version, the Life Recovery Bible is worth a look.

I had the earlier version of the NLT Recovery Bible and was very attached to it. After getting sober this book was my lifeline and I clung to it like action heroes cling to helicopter rungs when escaping a burning building. That bible was paperback and starting to rip so I figured I deserved a nice newer copy. This was a little bigger than expected, but really the binding and look are lovely. I miss my old one which I wrote in profusely, but will forge a new relationship with excellent high quality copy.

I use this Bible in my prison ministry. It is in great demand by inmates.

I fell in love with Jesus through this Bible. This is an awesome effective tool given to us from God that speaks a language those suffering from addiction ...can understand. I love this Bible and give them to anyone I find who's in a 12 step program....and now to those in prison. This Bible is awesome!

I am involved in a women's jail ministry. Many of these women are suffering from various addictions and need the Lord Jesus to help turn their lives around. We give these Bibles away to give them direction and to give them a recovery plan to accept Jesus and also relate the steps to the AA steps for recovery. These are excellent Bibles for anyone wishing to start, renew, or grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

This Bible is an excellent resource for those who want a biblical additio to their 12-Step recovery

My husband and I have been using the recovery Bible for quite some time and have given many away to people in recovery. The meditations on the steps and principles of the program and also the Serenity Prayer are just a wonderful help to us in our recovery.
