This is one of Simply Reds best studio albums to date. The album is full of pumping, upbeat, sultry and grooving R and B numbers as well as a great selection of touching ballards. Mick Hucknalls strong and uplifting vocals are complemented perfectly on tracks such as YOU MAKE ME BELIEVE, LIVES AND LOVES, the infectious classic FAIRGROUND, NEVER NEVER LOVE, OUT ON THE RANGE, WERE IN THIS TOGETHER and SO MANY PEOPLE. Simply Red never disappoint and this excellent album is another in a long line of classics. Truly magnificent! Recommended!

I'd never been a Simply Red fan until I recieved this album as a gift....and discovered it to be one of the best I've ever heard. I've since realized that Simply Red is one of those terribly underrated groups, and this is a terribly underrated album. Songs like "Make Me Believe" and "Fairground" are perfectly dancable, and the whole album just makes me....happy! It's jazzy and fun, and I listen to it over and over. I reccommend it to anyone tired of the status quo of loud, thumpy, morose music.

I'm always mezmerized by Simply Red and enjoy a rare diversity of lyrics and melody. This is an awesome album--it evokes a multitude of emotions, very passionate.

This is some of the best music ever recorded. I must admit that I am not a true Simply Red fan, however, this CD remains one of my favorites. Fun & entertaining, this CD, if given a chance, is sure to grow into one of your favorites also.

I have always been a big fan of Simply Red. I had to review this CD even though I bought it when it first came out. Every song is a work of art. Never Never Love was played on every jazz channel in my city and is beyond all catagorization. The thought and genius that is everywhere on this recording cannot be understood until you own it. I played this CD till it was nearly worn out. I recomend it highly.

DEFINITELY one of the GREATEST bands of our time. Ever-changing line-ups (cept' for the vocalist of course) but nevetheless an astounding band. "Life" is filled with velvet sounds of Mick Hucknall, the kinda vibe you can relax to, tap your feet or simply get up and groove a little something..Simply Red just gets better with time. Their latest release "Home" scheduled for mid March is off-the-hook. The single "Sunrise" is already blazin' the airwaves around the world.. People get ready to lose yourself into the groove!

If you enjoy the sound of the Simply Red you will like this CD. I like it and listen often to it often.

I first heard this CD back in 1999 when I went out to Fire Island for the first time with a group of my friends. I had broken up with my boyfriend the night before and I was feeling down when one of the other guys in our house played this CD and it really cheered me up. Outside of "Holding Back the Years" and "Stars", I really wasn't a big fan of Simply Red but after hearing this CD - especially the song "Fairground" - I became a fan. Mick Hucknall has one of the most passionate and soulful voices I've ever heard and when I got home I bought this CD and it's still one of my favorites. In fact, I keep this CD in my truck and I never get tired of listening to it.

I'm only sorry I never saw them live but I'm going to order their farewell concert CD/DVD so I can add that to my collection of great bands.

Life is the most comprehensive recording by Red. It has everything that Simply Red is. Amazing compositions, fantastic arrangements, musical nuances, voice and musical subtleties, great songs and an inspired Red. True social concerns, world view and compassion with dance the night away. Simply Red's Best...

LIFE: so far is my favoret. each song is truly simply red and each is diffrent.. their music has many layers and i can listen to a song several times and hear something i missed before..the words are incredible, guess i am a simply red fan, micks new cd tribute to bobby is also wonderful, very diffrent but shows micks voice maturity and smoothness to a "t". keep up the good work mick. lol
