From School Library Journal
Grade 4-7-Two titles about the physical environments and life-forms particular to these respective seas. The covers are colorful and enticing, but the information is a bit slight. Each one contains approximately 20 short, easy-to-read chapters, many of which consist of a single double-page spread. Vibrant color photos and helpful captions appear throughout. The books touch upon environmental problems such as overfishing in the Grand Banks (Atlantic) and pollution in the Mediterranean. Full-page sidebars include interesting topics such as the Bermuda Triangle and the 27,000-year-old handprints found in caves beneath the Mediterranean Sea. Though Clint Twist's Seas and Oceans (Dillon, 1991) offers more information, these volumes will be useful for reports and browsing.
