Not sure if this actually aids to the color contrast, or if the glass is protected against scratches, but for less than a buck I think it's worth it. Like buying piece of mind. As the reusability goes I don't think I would remove this unless necessary. I didn't align mine correctly the first time, and after removing it and putting it back on there are air bubbles that I still can't get out.

Don't know what other reviewers are seeing. I opened the package, cleaned the iphone surface with a moist paper towel first, then with a dry napkin (my simple way of cleaning the surface), then cleaned with the cleaning cloth supplied (it all took less than a minute), and applied the screen protector. It went on cleanly with very little bubbles that I could remove with the supplied applicator (a small plastic tool to remove the bubbles).
BargainCell promptly shipped them on ordering and I got it in 3 days. More than a week now and so far the screen is holding up well.

Update: Two months later and it is still ok - no bubbles and it is sticking to the surface correctly. Great product for a very good price (even the high cost of shipping is worth it), compared to similar products being sold in Fry's for $10 or more.

I cleaned the screen as recommended in the directions, put on the screen cover, and got quite a few bubbles that I couldn't get rid of. I would have been able to deal with the bubbles, but I couldn't deal with the sticker residue left from the 'helpful' little white tab that was put on the cover to aid in removing the backing. Actually, I did put up with it for about 10 minutes, then I tried to type up a text message and my keyboard lagged a whooole lot. Very annoying. The protector is currently in my trash can. Oh well.

I was extremely disappointed with my purchase of an iPhone screen protector. When I got the item, it was damaged. It had this weird sticky, viscous stuff all over it. I couldn't remove the stuff, so I never used the product. (money down the drain).

I haven't had the opportunity to try other screen protectors, but this one has a few negative functional flaws. Compared to the iPhone screen (without a protector) the screen protector is worse in the following ways:

- The film attracts (absorbs) hand and finger oil. This makes frequent cleaning necessary and difficult.

- Glare. Although the mirror finish is nice, there's a noticable reflection of the user. Which may be a positive for the narcissistic users.

- Mirror finish dampens the brightness of the screen. Turning up the iPhone brightness to counter this has an adverse affect on battery life.

Summary: This is a nice looking protector and it does accomplish it's intended purpose of protecting the screen but at a cost to the user of more than just it's price tag. (battery life, screen clarity, and cleanliness)

For the cost that I paid for this product ($3.00 including shipping), I had expected it to last atleast for a couple of months. Well, I was wrong.
While trying to put it on the iphone, there were about 10 bubbles. Some of them went away but about 2 large ones refused to die. So I removed it and tried putting it on again. This led to more bubbles and more frustration!! I cant say that I didnt deserve it since I payed only $3 incl shipping!! In essence, buy it if you want to chance your luck. Take care to insert it properly the first time and you will be a satisfied customer!!

---update---2 days later, got a film from the apple store for $15, and it rocks!

Ordered three.
Ok. The first one I applied was absolutely horrible, as i could not figure out, which one was the protector and which one was the cover(protector's protector??). So the one with the white tab is the useless part!! there was a review here of a guy having a hard time removing the white sticker (LOL) that probably gave me the idea that it was "THE PROTECTOR".
So the second one, had bubbles, the ones which dint budge had a speck of dust under them. I had one right in the center of the screen. Made a few tries to remove it ,but it just went downhill from there.
Then came the third one, this time, no specks of dust, but I managed to screw this one as well by applying it more towards one side. I was trying to get rid of a 'long bubble' which was formed as "THE PROTECTOR" was touching the steel rim. After playing around, i figured if I push the 'long bubble'AWAY from the steel rim, "THE PROTECTOR" slides a bit too and i was able to slide it like a half mm away from the rim and tada!!!
As for the other two "REUSABLE" protectors , I just WASHED THEM (under running water, scrub gently with your fingers), the tricky part is drying without letting dust settle on it. After a few tries, i just put back their covers (while they were wet and before dust could settle) and i am assuming they CAN be reused as "THE PROTECTOR" does not lose its STICKY properties after washing.

I just recieved this product today, 5/29/2008. I am EXTREMELY pleased with this item. I was reluctant that it would still allow the functionality of my IPhone, but the cover allows for full function of the phone. As in one of the other reviews, if you are extremely careful you can put the cover on without bubbles. Make sure the iPhone screen is completely clean, comes with squeege to clean(AWESOME).
*****TIP*****
It is kind of hard to tell which side is the adhesive side at first. Let my troubles ease your use of this product. The smooth side goes away from the screen the semi sticky, semi roughish side is the adhesive side. Both sides will apply to the screen make sure you have the right side down. DO NOT USE THE CLOTH ON THE ADHESIVE SIDE. It will not ruin the cover, but you will need to clean it off.

I have bought 3 different film screen covers for my iPhone and none compared to this item! I bought one from a major retailer and it only covered part of the screen. And it cost me 3x the amount I paid for it here. I also bought another expensive one and it was horrible because it left a residue on the phone. This one was easy to apply and it covered the whole screen. It comes with an easy set up so it makes it almost impossible for you to leave smudges on the sticky side. I have to say you have to be very patient and go slow and it will be the best thing to protect your new iPhone. I bought one for my sister 2 days after receiving mine. I am reccomending this to all my friends. And just because this item here is priced low, doesnt mean it's a cheap item. These guys are practically giving this away for how well it protects your screen and what everyone else is charging out there. They should have these available everywhere!
