Good Ole Fashioned Soul--Dig?, April 8, 2000
This review is from: Life Story (Audio CD)
Interesting album in the tradition of true blue soul. But lacks the punch to make it into the main stream-just take a look at Carleen Anderson, Shara Nelson, and N'dea Davenport....huh? Shara, N'dea who? See what I mean. Before her first album, "Black Diamond", she collaborated with Lenny Kravitz and Mary J Bilge. Her influence stems probably from her old flame, D" Angelo, where she wrote "Everyday", a track intended for Blige but now found in her current release. This album is strictly for die-hard fans trapped in the sixties where Diana Ross and the Supremes was all and ends all (minus the decibels). Try it, you may get accustomed to this raw find.
