Tye and GA are some of most talented and anointed people you will every hear, see, meet and know. If you ever get a chance to see these guys live...DO IT! They transend their album (which is a tough task to do). The ideas and concepts on this album are great and the words minister to you no matter what stage of LIFE you are in. This album has alittle bit for everyone on it. Young people will love it because it's produced by the same guy (James Poyser) that worked with Lauryn Hill, Eryka Badu and Musiq. Also this world renowned, fine group of singers sang on Justin Timberlake's hit song, "Cry me a River". They also performed with Sting, Faith Hill, Stevie Wonder and Don Henley, just to name a few. Older people will enjoy it because of the truth in the lyrics and the great guest singers on the album, including Pastor John P.Kee & Kim Burrell. Regardless, just do yourself a favor and BUY THIS ALBUM.

This cd is a MUST have. I went to go see Tye like about a year and a half ago in concert. Whew! Let me tell, you it was better than any secular concert I've ever been to! We were wilding out up in church do you hear me?! We were dancing, singing, praising the Spirit was truly in the house that night. From Superstar to Struggle that whole cd is on hit. My song is "You Can Change" w/ Kim Burrell that song touched my heart in so many ways. There was and still are times where I feel that I have fallen out a grace or that I am not in God's will, this cd helps me so much. For example "Answer" lifted me up during a time where I felt like I was so bad that Jesus couldn't possibly forgive me. But then I learned that Jesus forgives all sins each and every one no matter how big or little. However He can't forgive you if you don't accept Him as Lord and Savior. It's not about Him just being Savior He has to be Lord too and I learned that last night during church. That means giving your life over to Him and allowing Him to guide and direct you. So I encourage you first to try Jesus if you haven't and then second to go and pick up this cd because it will help w/ your spiritual growth, I promise.

Since being introduced to the world in 1997 through super production tandem Louis "Buster" Brown and Scott "Shavoni" Parker, Tye Tribbett & GA (which stands for Greater Anointing) has taken quite an unconventional journey through the urban music scene. The group's humble initiation took place when they were guests on the "Prince of Egypt: Inspirational" album after being signed to Buster & Shavoni's production label. They appeared on the album singing vocals for the song, "Let Go, Let God," which also featured the writing and vocal expertise of THEN new artist, Mary Mary. This led them to tour on the road with Grammy-winning Country sensation, Faith Hill. In 2003, they would finally taste success in their own right by signing to a major deal with Sony Urban Music, under James Poyser's Axis umbrella. (WoW!!! That's a lot of mentoring to be involved with!) Now, to their first album which is aptly called, "Life." The album constantly beckons the listener, in varied and subtle ways to reflect on the strength and grace of God. Every song is catapulted by its staggering rhythms, influential sound, and enguaging lyrical strength. The choir's vocals are extraordinary. Tye's band, Sound Check, flawlessly connects on all cylinders. And Tye is just pure animation!! His zest and selflessness bring out the passion in this album. Songs like, "Taste N' See," "Superstar," "Answer," "Struggle," and "You Can Change," (which features the legendary Kim Burrell) inspire the listener to remain hopeful through life's travesties. Moreover, this album clearly and creatively fuses all styles of music, all in one place. The soulful sound of "I Can Make It" is not only sincere, but also rather compelling. The same can be said about "A Mighty Long Way," [my favorite] in which the beat becomes almost too complex to anticipate. Finally, the spontaneity of "It's Time Now" offers an invitation to salvation, while "Everything" ushers in God's presence through worship. I love this album so much!! I haven't stopped listening and I will be buying Tye Tribbett & GA's live album, which will be released in the spring of 2006!!

Thank God for something new to the gospel world. For those of you who are trying to live the life but crave the sounds of Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, the Roots or any artist out of Philly, here is your alternative! This is gospel for the streets that speaks to the streets with the sound of the streets. It's just fresh and exciting to listen to. This is not the only CD out that has that Philly sound. There's another guy by the name of Derrick (hope I spelled that right) Tripplett who has an album with a similar style. It's hard to find that one though. The whole album is good. My favorite songs are "No Way", "Taste and See", "Superstar", and "I Can Make It". These songs are tiiight! Tye Tribbett's singing reminds me of Bilal, especially on "Superstar". Of course being from Philly, backbeats and lazy beats dominate many of the tracks. There's a track with Kim Burrell (You Can Change). Of course, Kim is Kim. There's also a track(My Joy) with John Kee which is done nicely. I will say that John is very versatile in his vocal ability. It's always nice when we can experience gospel music in a fresh, new way. Please support this artist. We don't want him to end up in the secular industry due to non-support. If you like Montrel Darrett's album or any of the artist from Philly, this is the album for you. If you do not have Montrel's "Chronicles of the Soul" album, it would be a nice edition to your collection. The same cats produced and wrote "That's Why" which is on Fred's new album. They do excellent work. I'm looking forward to many more projects from this artist. Buy and enjoy.

Looking for something new, different, edgy but gospel-filled? Then this is the CD 4 U!

Tye & G.A. out do themselves on this one. It has flava, it's hip, it can reach our young people and the underlying message is the same...God has the be the center.

From the 1st track NO WAY to the song ANSWER...simply says it all we can't live without JESUS. Tye preaches throughout.. SUPERSTAR really stands out for the hip-hop, bling-bling, get money generation...this song simply lets you know it ain't about all that if you don't have HIM. The songs end with a small Carl Thomas cameo...nice!

MY JOY feat. Pastor Kee is so full of praise, you can't help but shout.

Grab this CD and bless yourself and for those with teens..a much needed BLESSING for them.

This CD IS OFF THE HOOK!! I am in a college choir, the University of Michigan Gospel Chorale and we sung "Answer" last year. That song is sooo beautiful and so powerful. For our spring concert about 3 weeks ago, we sung "No Way" and it brought the house down. Everybody was on their feet dancing and afterwards a lot of people told us that was one of the best songs because it is hype number one and it is anointed yet simple song!! I love this cd so much! It is amazing! My fav. song is "It's time now" I love the beat and the dynamics of the vocals are surely on point. I really don't skip any songs because the cd is that on point!! Big ups to Tye Tribbett and GA!!!

This ialbum is very good!!! It is truly a blessing. This group has a message and they are putting it out there loud and clear-Live for God. This is a must have album. Be Blessed!!

All I can say is one word... Beautiful...
I bought this CD randomly while trying to enhance my collection... I left it in the plastic for a few days as I listened to everything else I had bought. I was hesitant about listening to it cause I didn't think I'd like it........LOVED IT... BEAUTIFUL!

ALL OF THEM REALLY!

I was completely surprised by this album! I love GA Chant (No Way), but I was glad that the album was diverse in musical styles. This album has something for everybody. You can hear the traditional, contemporary, and neosoul vibes. My favorites off the album are "No Way", "Superstar", "Everything to Me", and "Look Where He Brought Me From" (I know I probably have the title wrong).

Ty Tribett has done an outstanding job at fusing gospel with the new rap kids sound of today. It is touching, moving, gets you up on your feet, while delivering the message of praises to the most high God!
