This review is from: Life Wish (Paperback)
This book is quiet honestly and simply written. Jill brings you right into her life. One feels the beautiful bond of the true love this couple have been given and feel for each other. Their appreciation of life amist sickness and maybe pending death is sad.

Inspiring hopeful message fighting breast cancer,
By
This review is from: Life Wish (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading Jill Ireland's Life Wish. It describes her life at the time she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She describes in detail her fight against this disease using both conventional and unconventional means. It is well written and through out the book she never stops encouraging the reader with her hopeful message that this disease can be beaten. You are drawn into her life of her husband, Charles Bronson, her children, stepchildren and friends as she travels life's path in her fight against disease. Her next book Life Lines details her fathers condition with aphasia following a stroke and her son Jason's struggle with addiction. At the time of her death I had heard she was working on a third book Life Times but her husband was against publishing it.

An intelligent account of a privileged woman facing her mortality,
This review is from: Life Wish (Paperback)
I remember reading at some point that Charles Bronson and his wife Jill Ireland were among the wealthiest people in Hollywood, if not the world -- well that was 20 or 30 years ago. Jill Ireland, who discovered at age 48 that she had breast cancer, reports on the experience with exceptional candor and insight; and her celebrity status adds irony to the story -- her wealth and her powerful husband were instantly rendered helpless against the disease. But she recounts the details of her life and her approach to her illness with considerable intelligence and humor. Especially affecting are her observations about the tyranny of possessions -- and about other peoples' reaction to her suddenly vulnerable status. She was a lady of considerable spirit, and her story is well worth reading.

Some good insights to improve quality of life,
By STella B.Carnes (Valley Forge, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Life Wish/Life Lines (Audio Cassette)
I felt there were some valuable insights to improve quality of life and attitude for someone suffering from a life threatening or potentially life threatening disease. However her financial situation and style of living, including household help and other resources, separated her from the average person in same situation Chemo treatment appears to have improved considerally since this book was written. Did she eventually die from the cancer?
