Glancing at this book’s cover, it takes a moment to register that the smiling young man staring back has neither arms nor legs. That’s fitting, since Vujicic’s story is about how, despite extreme disabilities, he wants to be seen as a normal person. Readers might find extraordinary a better word, as they learn how Vujicic, born limbless (but with a tiny foot), lives what he calls “a ridiculously good life.” By learning to be a help and resource to others, and choosing to dwell on the positives in his life, including a supportive family and friends, he has overcome the despondency natural to a young person in his predicament and become a source of inspiration for those he meets as a speaker and those who see his videos on YouTube. Although much of his account is straightforward biography, he also devotes considerable space to sharing his faith in God and offering practical suggestions for making one’s life happier and more productive. This book has creative resources in the back for anyone looking into
humanitarian work.
Also, it's a good resource for anyone who is struggling
and looking for answers. The author is honest and real
about pain but hopeful about it not ending there.

This is my first review on Amazon, but I felt compelled to post it. I saw Nick in person a few months ago in Salem, VA. His words, smile, laugh, and heart made me reconsider making some bad decisions in my life. I cannot express in words how much I encourage you to read this book. I can't wait until I have it in my hands. God works in strange and amazing ways and my life is testament to that. Please, please please, consider buying this book if you are in a difficult point in your life and it may seem that there is nothing positive. Nick is an amazing person and I'm sure his book will be just as amazing. <3

Nick Vujicic has an incredible testimony-he was born with no arms and no legs, and he wholeheartedly believes God has a purpose for the way he was made. I was excited to read this book, because I wanted to hear Nick's story-to walk with him through his childhood, into his adolescent years, and up to his present life as a world-traveling speaker.
Unfortunately, Nick's story was told thematically, and it was intermixed with large portions of reader-directed inspirational speaking. After a few chapters, I felt pretty frustrated by this-I just wanted Nick's story, which on its own would have provided me with boatloads of inspiration. I enjoy biographies of amazing men like Nick, and I assumed that's what I was going to get. Instead, I mostly got Nick's message, illustrated with Nick's story.
Nick's message is extremely positive. Yet, I often found myself wonderful how much of it was derived from God's Word and how much of it came from other motivational speakers that Nick has heard or befriended. Along with Nick, I believe God has made him perfectly for the purpose he has for him, and I believe Nick will continue to impact folks for as long as he lives. However, from the book I sensed a message that is still in the focusing stages-it seemed at times to jump from place to place, at times to cover ground I've heard other motivational speakers cover, and at times to repeat points made in various other places in the book.
I have a hard time saying any of that, because I love Nick Vujicic! I haven't met him, but from his words, from his YouTube videos, and from the heart that jumps out of every page and clip, I believe Nick is thrilled to try to reach the people God has placed in front of him with a message of God's love for everyone, of God's eyes that see not as man sees, and of the value of every human being as an image-bearer of God. However, it would be awesome to see Nick hone in on a message that was more Cross-/Gospel-centered and less us-centered/ambiguous.
Again, please don't misread me-awesome guy, awesome heart for the Lord and for his creation, but I think he's still developing the message God has given him. I'll be thrilled to read Nick's biography when it comes out!
