Book Description

John Fitzgerald Kennedy is an American legend. In his short term in office he accomplished more than many politicians do in a long lifetime of public service. JFK's story is also an American tragedy. His untimely death and the image of his grieving widow, indeed his grieving country, touches even the hearts of Americans who were not yet born when he was assassinated.

For these reasons and more we continue to learn about and study this celebrated American president. And the best way to learn is with Higher Read's guide to John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This factual, concise, and easy-to-read book highlights important milestones in JFK's life. From his influential parentage and early life to his early political career to his presidency and lasting influence on his country, this guide will give you all you need to know to be well informed on our 35th president.

This guide to John Fitzgerald Kennedy skips the speculation, conspiracy, and poorly-documented scandals that often pervade biographies of Jack Kennedy and focuses on the kind of facts you want to know. Devoid also of the stodgy tones of other accounts, this book is a breeze to read.

So sit down, read more, and know more about the man who saved a fellow soldier's life, started the Peace Corps, and broke down religious and racial barriers for himself and others. After reading Higher Read's guide to John Fitzgerald Kennedy you will certainly agree that this is a man worth knowing about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for homeschoolers February 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
As a homeschooling mother, I highly recommend this book as a great resource on American history. It is an excellent overview of the life of JFK and the times that shaped his presidency.

It covers the president's life in an accurate, concise, factual manner. His family influences, early life and career in politics are covered, as well as world and domestic events that shaped who he became and how he led our country.

I was particularly intrigued by the section on the Vietnam war. It presented a factual view, free of social commentary or political distortion, which is hard to find in a treatment of the subject.

This book was very interesting - it made history come alive. Easy to read and understand and gave you a complete different picture of JFK and America than what was in my history books! I will definitely recommend this to friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide about JFK January 29, 2013
By jmc
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was not just a fast read; but an interesting read, as well. I have gone through some books on JFK throughout the years; but this guide does it in a more concise way. Jumps around a little bit for me; but I have gained even more knowledge than I had prior to this reading. Highly recommend this guide.

Format:Kindle Edition
This book was an interesting and easy read. It was fully of facts and none of the gossip. This book would be appropriate not only for kids in middle school through high school, but also anyone who wants to find out more about Kennedy's family life including his ancestors, his values and his career.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done! February 5, 2013
By DebbieM
Format:Kindle Edition
As someone who has always been interested in the Kennedy family, I found this book to be a must-read. I admired JFK greatly, and it's nice to have his story told in such a concise and easy-to understand manner. This book touches on the issues that were important to him - NASA, civil rights, the Peace Corps, etc, and also tells the story of his family origins and the years leading up to his Presidency. It's informative and thorough without being cumbersome. A good book about a very interesting subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Guide To John Fitzgerald Kennedy February 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I love this book! I have always loved the Kennedy family, especially John F. and Jacki O. I find the stories about this family fascinating.

What I really like about this book is it deals with details and facts about JFK's life, his goals, dreams and achievements. What it seems to lack is all the garbage of his numerous affairs or conspiracy theories.

What this book looks at is a man that had a vision for America and had the guts to carry it out!

Great read and worth your attention!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brief review of the Presidency of JFK February 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This brief review of the life and presidency of JFK gives a full and relatively objective overview of JFK. It touches on every phase of his life and includes both the great achievements as well as the miserable events such as the Bay of Pigs effort at invasion of Cuba. The handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis has recently been effectively portrayed in TV documentaries and more information could have been included here. But, over all, it would be well received to have such brief overviews of all our presidents. Hopefully Higher Read LLC. can take this as a challenge. This is a quick read for the train or plane or the road trip.

Written more like a kid's text. It was very basic and really written for a younger set. It appears that the other books written by this author are written in the same format.
