5.0 out of 5 stars Thank God!, June 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Life 'n Perspectives of a Genuine Crossover (Audio CD)
When I walked into the record store today, my friend who worked there had a smile on his face. I asked him what he was so happy about, and then he told me that Urban Dance Squad albums have been rereleased! I hit the roof! I haven't been this excited since underworld's Beacoup Fish came out.

Urban Dance Squad is one of the most versitile groups arround today, I fell in love with them when I was 12 and I have never looked back. Rude Boy is the best rapper by far, not just for his UDS work but for his work with Junkie XL where he really shines. I just wish UDS would get back together...

This album is pretty good, but I like there later stuff much better. Their best song by far is "Good Grief". But this album has some gems including "Comeback" "Son of da Culture Clash".

UDS were the orginal Rage aganst the Machine, Rage ripped these guys off soo bad, its unbeliveable. I can't and will not listen to Rage.

Become a fan of UDS, I promise you'll enjoy their music...

4.0 out of 5 stars Versatile follow-up, again with excellent live disc, January 20, 1999
By
This review is from: Life 'n Perspectives of a Genuine Crossover (Audio CD)
Was their superb debut already a exciting mix of musical styles, this album is maybe even more eclectic. In general it is a bit more rock-guitar oriented than Mental Floss... but it still tries to combine all musical styles in one song. Unfortunately, it does not work for all songs (Duck Ska or Mr. Ezway), but they are overshadowed by gems like Routine (reason enough to buy this album), Comeback and Harvey Quinnt.

Again, this reissue features a live disc. This time it is a 1992 concert from Tokyo. Live, it seems as if they explode on stage as they are energetic to the maximum. With more guitars than in the studio, it makes you scream and jump around.

The reason this album deserves 4 stars is that it is a little bit less overwhelming than their debut. I wanted to give them 4,5 stars but that is unfortunately not possible. They are still better than most other bands as many will give their right arm for an album like this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Band You Never Heard Of, February 19, 2000
This review is from: Life 'n Perspectives of a Genuine Crossover (Audio CD)
Urban Dance Squad should be superstars in the US by now, with albums like this, which is easily as good as anything the Red Hot Chili Peppers ever cranked out, not to mention Rage Against The Machine. Oh well, it's your loss Yankees.
