4.0 out of 5 stars Good advice, but hard to swallow.
Well, I guess anything worth doing is not easy. This book will give you the tools necessary to rid your body of candida yeast which is the root of a lot of disease we experience in the body according to many health professionals (although not recognized by most drug-pushing physicians these days). It's a good read and full of useful, healthful information. But, to do...

3.0 out of 5 stars Light reading, good plan
I started this program in order to rid myself of bad complexion slow bowels and stubborn weight. One out of three isn't great but they are a big three in my life so it's not all that bad either. I lost 30 pounds across 17 weeks. This includes the time it took me having added the bacteria a week late and the add back portion of the plan where various foods are...

But, to do the candida cleasnse it mentions in the book you have to go to Dr. Jeff's website www.lifeforceplan.com and purchase his supplements to take along with the diet. The program can take 8 - 12 weeks as well with a sensible and logical diet plan included (you have to stop feeding the yeast to kill it). The only downside to this whole plan is the cost of the supplements which are about $576 for the whole 12 weeks or so (go to the website for details). Otherwise, it's a good read and may be worth your time (and money)to do this cleanse, especially if it saves you a few thousand dollars in medical bills down the road (an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!).

If everyone read this book the Pharmaceutical companies would be hurting financialy. I can't say enough good about this book. It has changed my way of eating. Not only have I lost weight, but I feel like I'm in my thirties. I have more energy and stamina than I have had in years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Light reading, good plan, June 26, 2006
This review is from: LifeForce: A Dynamic Plan For Health, Vitality and Weight Los (Paperback)
I started this program in order to rid myself of bad complexion slow bowels and stubborn weight. One out of three isn't great but they are a big three in my life so it's not all that bad either. I lost 30 pounds across 17 weeks. This includes the time it took me having added the bacteria a week late and the add back portion of the plan where various foods are reintroduced. Keep in mind that this is a one time plan and also that the book is very short. It's a brief overview of the plan and Doctor McCombs' general perspective on modern health. Good information, good insights. I've heard so many different testimonials that I honestly believe but in my personal case it could not clear my complexion or my irregularity. That's not necessarily going to be true of anyone else but I'm still glad I did it for the weight loss and new insights into the weight issue and living healthy. One of the worst health problems I've had was cleared up by one key idea. I talked with Doctor McCombs via email about it and he openly said he doesn't heed his own advice on the subject much of the time but if it weren't for him mentioning it and a company that specializes in it, I'd still have insomnia. I have had insomnia my whole life and now it's gone. It was gone immediately after I took the advice and it wasn't even recommended for insomnia! It wasn't the lifeforce plan but it was on his list of advice. I respect Dr. McCombs for his common sense and theories.

Update: I just want to quickly update my original review...about year ago I think. Although my chronic constipation was at its worst during the plan, even considering that I was partly doing it to remedy that problem, I've noticed that since completing his program and before starting anything else, it's not been a problem once. I suppose I spoke too soon. It seems to have cleared up the problem after all.

This has been a very good book and very informative. I have started the plan and I am on my second week. Yes, it is VERY important to intake the water and the sweating, I cannot stress this enough. I also think this plan is helpful to have some professional guidence with also. Each person is different and the plan will affect each different. I was highly impressed with the ease of contact through the website also! Also, note if you start this plan, it is NOT painfree and takes a definite commitment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Am on this plan right now in week 5 18 pouns loss, feel great!!, April 16, 2006
This review is from: LifeForce: A Dynamic Plan For Health, Vitality and Weight Los (Paperback)
This diet while difficult to follow is what my body needed to unlock the cravings for sugar and carbs. I have been on it for 5 weeks and I feel great. The nightly 30 minute soak is a challenge but I am making the time to efficiently do the plan. To anyone who feels they need to regain control of their health and well being and add in an extra bonus of weight loss, which never hurts, I highly recommend this plan. You do not have to buy the supplements all at once for 576 dollars, you can buy them month to month so you do not feel the crunch as bad. I can't say enough about how good I feel, about how my complexion has cleared up, and the weight is just falling off without much effort at all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Medical Facts, March 31, 2009

My wife's a Physician Assistant and can order most standard medical diagnostic tests at will for me.Before I started the plan presented in this book I had a fatty liver, hypertension, extremely high cholesterol(over 200 & over 250 triglicerides),borderline diabetes, moderately diminished kidney function and weighed 295 pounds at 6'6" tall and 42 yrs old.Just shortly before even completing the 16 week plan outlined in this book we redid tests and my weight was 250 and all body functions had NORMALIZED, even my liver(AST,serum from 90units/L to 27units/L & ALT, serum from 78units/L to 46units/L) with the exception of my kidneys which improved to almost normal(78gfr)but are still healing. My wife was skeptical but believes now and acheived her own amazing results by doing this plan.Note:I followed plan to the tee and thought it best since I only needed to follow plan for 16 weeks out of my whole life.Thank God through His Son Jesus Christ by the power of the Comforter.Thank you for your prayers and may God Bless those that would act faithfully upon this information.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best plan out there, September 11, 2007
This review is from: LifeForce: A Dynamic Plan For Health, Vitality and Weight Los (Paperback)
Me and my 3 daughters have really suffered with systemic candida, as a result of intensive and long antibiotic therapy for treating Lyme Disease. My Candida was so bad it was in my lungs, as one doctor said well be grateful it is'nt in your brain!!! After combing websites for 8 weeks, Dr. Jeff's plan seemed to be the most thorough and comprehensive. I bought the book and the suypplements and followed the diet to the letter and did not stray once and the four of us have had complete success!!! We have been symptom and candida free since June. My youngest daughter, had some difficulty with returning yeast after the diet and I contacted Dr. Jeff and we backed her up on the plan and she stayed on for 3 more weeks and is doing well.

[...]. If you e-mail you through that forum he will respond with in 24 hours. I emailed throughout the entire diet and he always got right back to me.

God Bless

3.0 out of 5 stars It would probably work for some, just not me, August 28, 2006
This review is from: LifeForce: A Dynamic Plan For Health, Vitality and Weight Los (Paperback)
I will admit that I did not finish the entire Lifeforce Plan. I made it through six weeks, and for those six weeks I followed the plan to the letter. I never missed my supplements; I ate none of the "no" foods, not even a bite; I drank 8 pints of water a day (that's about a gallon) and I took my daily 15 minute sauna. The main thing that discouraged me was that, even after 4-5 weeks, I felt no better. In fact, one could say that this plan made me feel worse. I had terrible headaches, and I even had a yeast infection, which had never happened before (strange considering that one of the purposes of this plan is to cure yeast infections).
However, I will admit that I did lose weight on this diet, which is why I don't consider it a total loss. I lost about 10 pounds in the six weeks that I was on it. But I am not sure whether I would have lost taht weight by simply going on the diet, without the supplements.
I know this plan has worked wonders for thousands of people, and I'm not saying you shouldn't try it. I'm just saying that I wasn't one of them.

3.0 out of 5 stars LIFEFORCE: A Place to Begin, March 16, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: LifeForce: A Dynamic Plan For Health, Vitality and Weight Los (Paperback)
The reader who can best benefit from LIFEFORCE by Jeffrey McCombs is one who has been sick or at least considerably far removed from vibrant health for many years and has no idea of the link between good health and detoxification. McCombs' thesis is that nearly everyone suffers from varying degrees of toxicity brought on by eating chemically altered food which in turn cause the growth of Candida fungus. Further he argues that the indiscriminate use of antibiotics exacerbates the worsening cycle of the body's ability to eliminate toxins. I have no major issues with any of these areas but the slimness of his book (about 100 pages) does not permit him enough space to delve into areas that need further light. I would have appreciated, for example, more explanation on why he deems beef a needed nutrient for numerous antioxidants when nearly all nutritionists suggest that beef simply contains too much animal fat, which for McCombs is a virtue and not a vice. Further, even with his focus on the plusses of beef, he scants a much needed warning that not all beef is created equal. He might have added that organic beef coming from free reign cows should be the first choice of beef shoppers. Still, I do not intend to be too picky. In his relentless urging of his readers to detoxify, I can only applaud such single-minded devotion. After reading McCombs, one might wish to look elsewhere for a more complete consideration of the need to detoxify. I recommend THE NEW DETOX DIET by Elson Haas and the 7-DAY DETOX MIRACLE for a conventional approach. And for an unconventional (and controversial) approach, I suggest NATURAL CURES 'THEY' DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT by Kevin Trudeau.
