Designed with utility and individual fitness in mind, the LifeGear 40218 Manual Treadmill is the economic choice to make. If you're frustrated with the gym, but don't want to invest in an expensive, computerized treadmill, then look no further than this manual treadmill. The LifeGear 40219 is specially designed for walking and can accommodate users of all shapes and sizes. It comes with an anti-slide hand brake that makes getting on and off the machine safe and easy, and super-long safety handles make you feel secure while you exercise. Plus, with a wide belt, comparable in size to those found on electric treadmills, walking at a brisk pace poses no problems. Although electric treadmills are excellent for running, they are expensive, heavy, and take up a lot of room. If walking is your forte, then this manual treadmill is for you. It has a folding design that can be set up quickly and easily at the office or in front of the television. It's easy; just pick a television show and take a brisk stroll while you watch. Do this every day and you'll be on your way to a healthier, fitter body. You might have to get off the couch to improve your fitness, but now you don't have to miss your favorite programs.

About Manual Treadmills
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, treadmills continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of walking or jogging at any time, but with the "at any time, in any weather, from the comfort and safety of your home" added convenience. Treadmills are available in manual and electric models. Electric models are excellent for both jogging and walking, but they are large, heavy, and expensive. On the other hand, manual treadmills are especially designed for walking and are compact, lightweight, and very easy to use. The features are basic and provide worry-free exercise in rooms of almost any size. Walking-only limitations of a manual treadmill are a great option for overall cardiovascular fitness, and also in promoting the health and longevity of your bones and joints.

2.0 out of 5 stars TOO BIG, TOO HEAVY, February 10, 2005

This review is from: LifeGear Manual Treadmill (Sports)
This is not as described..it is very hard to move - heavy and bulky. If you have a place to set it up and leave it, fine, but this is not going to be pulled out every day for a 'stroll in front of the TV', as described. Performance-wise it seems very nice and is a good solid piece of equipment, but definitely not an item that can be put away after each use. I'm disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, February 24, 2005
This review is from: LifeGear Manual Treadmill (Sports)
It's easy to use and there wasn't any assembly required. You just basically unfold it and it's ready to go. It would be more movable with wheels, but it's fine. The only thing I don't like about it: is you have to adjust the "tread" every once in awhile. It slips to the side sometimes; other than that, it's great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, July 25, 2005
By
Disgusted (Claremont, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: LifeGear Manual Treadmill (Sports)
This is the worst purchase I have made from Amazon or anyone else. The "first" unit arrived with several parts broken and the tread immovable. After a number of calls to tech support, it was decided to return and replace the unit. Amazon promptly replaced the treadmill. This one had a movable and usable tread but the electronic display did not function. My friend at tech support did not have a clue. He suggested that he send me all the electircal cables used on this unit. It is not clear what I am to do with them. I strongly recommend that anyone wanting a manual treadmill puchase it from a diffrerent manufacturer.
