Featuring a cuff that wraps around larger arms, the LifeSource Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor with AccuFit Extra Large Cuff allows you to quickly and accurately measure your pulse and blood pressure. This monitor alerts you if you have an irregular heartbeat and filters out ambient noise for a precise reading. The monitor comes with a large, easy to read display and is simple to use.
AccuFit Cuff Fits Large Arms
Cuffs that are too small or too large will result in inaccurate readings. This AccuFit Extra Large Cuff has been specially created to fit arms ranging from 16-1/2 to 23-3/5 inches around, making it ideal for large arms. Ideal for body builders, weight lifters, football players and bariatric patients, the cuff is cone shaped to give the user a better fit. Created for comfort and accuracy, the latex-free band snugly surrounds the arm to ensure an accurate reading. This monitor can also use the regular Lifesource cuffs in small, medium and large.
High Performance Monitor Delivers Accurate Readings
Offering speed, reliability, and convenience, the LifeSource Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor allows you to keep tabs on your heart at home with accurate measurements. This monitor's blood pressure measurements are comparable to readings taken using the cuff/stethoscope auscultation method, within the limits of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which assures the safety and health of consumers.
Keeps Track of Your Readings
To keep track of your progress, the LifeSource Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor stores up to 60 measurements. Its time and date stamp makes it easy to look back over previous readings to detect any patterns.
Easy-to-Use Screen Simplifies Reading to Eliminate Guesswork
With an extra-large display and an illuminated start button, the blood pressure monitor is easy to operate and understand. The monitor features a Pressure Rating Indicator that eliminates guesswork by indicating whether your blood pressure is high, low, or normal.
While a trained professional should always interpret your blood pressure measurements, this monitor provides an easy way for you to see your pulse and blood pressure levels and understand how the numbers compare.
Irregular Heartbeat Detection
The LifeSource monitor also displays a symbol to alert you when your heartbeat is irregular. Plus, even when your heartbeat is irregular, the monitor will provide an accurate blood pressure and pulse rate reading.
With HeartWise technology, this monitor also automatically detects proper inflation and filters out ambient noise on deflation for a clear, accurate reading.
Runs on Batteries or AC Adapter
When you are at home, you can plug your monitor into the wall to conserve battery life with the included AC adapter. Conveniently, you can also measure your blood pressure when you're on the go, thanks to its battery power option. The monitor runs on four AA batteries (not included).

The BHS (British Hypertensive Society) publishes ratings and I carefully evaluated the ones that received the highest A/A rating as well as some of the newer offerings from these manufacturers that hadn't as yet been rated.
I went with this product primarily because it seems to be the only one with the extra large cuff (also offers a regular cuff option UA-280) and seemed accurate. After having had it for some time now I couldn't be more pleased. Readings are quick, machine is quiet and most important very consistent and accurate.
Highly recommend this monitor.
This particular model is one of the few that come with an extra large cuff. The extra large cuff comes in handy, but since this particular monitor was going to be used by several people I also purchased the LifeSource UA-281 Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff, Large (14.2" - 17.7"). Interchanging the large and extra large cuff is quick and simple. No hassles at all.
The unit is fairly quiet, although not the quietest on the market. It tends to be very quick, but there are times where it takes a little extra time to get a reading (this could be user error in the fitting of the cuff to the arm). The numbers on the screen are large and it also shows a graph (with a red, yellow, and green area) that indicates where the blood pressure is high or low.
You have the option of using the included power cord or batteries with this unit. I tend to just use the power cord and it works like a charm. Overall, this was a great purchase and recommended to anyone.

Before purchasing this blood pressure monitor, I noticed some reviewers complaining about the cuff being too big.
However, if you are morbidly obese, I would strongly recommend this product as is. I weight 492 pounds, therefore my upper arms are way too big for a "large" cuff. The cuff is larger than normal and tapered which allows for a more comfortable fit. Please note that even with big arms, the range indicator was exactly in the middle of the normal range on the cuff which is ideal for my current arm size.
During my last office visit, I compared this cuffs readings with the ones taken by the nurse after she measured my blood pressure. It is highly accurate since the measurements were within just a couple of points of what she recorded. I was a bit concerned since I searched some websites and they said automatic blood pressure monitors are not available with large cuffs, at least the ones they were selling. I am glad Amazon proved them wrong.
As many of you may have experienced, trying to find gear or clothing for big people at a reasonable price can be a challenge. The local big and tall shop has a 3 times markup on clothing versus one that is 50 miles away :( I was also unsuccessful in locating a bricks and mortar store that had a cuff that was large enough with or without the monitor. Bricks and mortar was my first choice since I wanted to make sure the cuff fit, but I was unable to find one at numerous local medical supply/pharmacies within 50 miles of where I live. One of the nice things about this monitor is that it is reasonably priced. It is very easy to spend more on a extra large cuff online without the monitor.Read more ›
The LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor is one of the few BP monitors on the market that comes with an Extra LARGE cuff. The accufit cuff is easy to place on the arm and easy to adjust for an accurate reading. There is a 2 inch yellow mark on the cuff that must be placed over the arrtery in order to get an accurate reading.
Then with one touch of a button the LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor starts to inflate the cuff to give you an accurate reading regarding your blood pressure. The monitor will store 60 total readings, 30 for the morning and 30 for the evening. When you turn on the machine it gives you your last reading for both your BP and Pulse.
One of the problems in getting an accurate BP reading is making sure one uses the correct size BP cuff. If the BP cuff is too small -- your reading will be higher than your actual BP.
Another issue is proper positioning while having your BP monitored. It is important that one sit in a chair with both feet flat on the floor and the arm the machine is monitoring must be at the same level as your heart. Rest your arm next to the machine on a hard flat surface.
Do not move, clench your hand into a fist or talk while the monitor is taking a BP reading. Take your BP in a relatively quiet area where the machine will not pick up background noise resulting in an inaccurate reading.
By following a few simple guidelines the LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor with Accufit Extra Large Cuff will accurately and dependably monitor your blood pressure for years.Read more ›
