5.0 out of 5 stars LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor
We received the monitor quickly. Unfortunately, the cuff was too large for my wife's arm. We had understood that it would fit a petite woman. I called the customer service line at the vendor to inquire about a small cuff. I was told that one was available, and the price, as well as shipping cost. *** UPDATE *** : After our third attempt with customer service they were willing to send us a small cuff to correct the issue. Although we received a cuff that works I wouldn't count on that happening again so your better off ordering a different monitor or also ordering a small cuff at the same time if 9.4" is too big for you.

We received the monitor quickly. Unfortunately, the cuff was too large for my wife's arm. We had understood that it would fit a petite woman. I called the customer service line at the vendor to inquire about a small cuff. I was told that one was available, and the price, as well as shipping cost. Then to my plesant surprise, the customer service representative volunteered to send one to us free of charge. The monitor works well, and the customer care is outstanding.

*** UPDATE *** : After our third attempt with customer service they were willing to send us a small cuff to correct the issue. Although we received a cuff that works I wouldn't count on that happening again so your better off ordering a different monitor or also ordering a small cuff at the same time if 9.4" is too big for you.

We purchased this blood pressure monitor because it's the only one that advertised a cuff that would fit my me and my wife (7.5"-12.2"). When we received the monitor we were disappointed to find that the medium cuff fits arm sizes 9.4"-14.2" and is printed clearly on the box. Do NOT buy this cuff if you have a smaller arm (less than 9.4").

We did a lot of research to find a good monitor and even looked on the Lifesource site. All of their product literature says the medium cuff will fit a 7.5"-12.2" inch arm. I called the Lifesource customer service and they said we're out of luck but of course we can purchase another cuff from them. I also tried emailing them twice, hoping for a better response, but they never responded.

A previous reviewer was able to get a free cuff but we weren't so lucky. Now, we'll look for another brand. Lifesource may be a good brand but they didn't seem to care that all of the literature is out of date and weren't willing to do anything to fix it. We're returning the monitor and will try to get Amazon to at least update their product description.

This monitor is very easy to use. I also purchased the Lifesource power adapter for use with this product. I checked this blood pressure monitor at my doctor's office and it is very accurate. It is one of the monitors that my primary care manager recommended. I am very pleased with this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal BP Monitoring Product for Small Children, March 22, 2007
After hours of searching for a BP monitor that would accurately take my seven year old's BP, I stumbled into this product on Amazon. It works wonderfully and the best part is that it is digital and inflates on it's own. Simple/Easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Source 767 vs Omron HEM-780, December 23, 2010
This review is from: LifeSource UA-767PV One Step Auto Inflate Blood Pressure Monitor with Medium Cuff (Health and Beauty)
I was going to buy the Omron HEM-780 because of the sparkling reviews and then found out a bit more information on the Life Source 767 and ended up purchasing it instead.

I didn't need anything above the features that both offered, so I believe either one would have met my requirements. However, two advantages:

1. Life Source 767 is cheaper than the Omron HEM0780 (at the time of this review--check current prices)
2. Life Source device has a lifetime warranty (Omron's is five years)

Note that the adapter costs extra and batteries are not included.

Before placing the order, make sure you MEASURE YOUR UPPER ARM for CUFF SIZE selection. Its not on the product link, you need to go to the cuff only product link to find the measurements for small, medium, and large LifeSource UA-280 Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff, Medium (9.4" - 14.2").

I received this item by the date promised. I took it to my Primary Doctor's Office at Kaiser Permanente. They did several readings comparing them with their professional monitor's, and the results were within a two or three points. Kaiser concluded that the LifeSource monitor was accurate enough for home use. I am very pleased with it, and highly recommended it. The only bad thing is that it does not include an AC adaptor and case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Use this daily, June 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: LifeSource UA-767PV One Step Auto Inflate Blood Pressure Monitor with Medium Cuff (Health and Beauty)
I've had the Lifesource UA-767PV about 3 months and I use it almost daily. I keep it on my table and it takes just a moment to sit down each evening and check my pressure. It seems to be pretty accurate as I've checked my BP before I went to the doctor and then at his office and the readings were similar.
For the price and your health, this is a good unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars questionable measurements; MAJOR "memory" problem!, September 20, 2010
By
Jim Warren (West Coast, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I needed a new (second) sphygmomanometer to replace a worn-out Omron HEM-637 wrist monitor that I had used since Feb'04. Bought this unit from a well-reputed local medical equipment retailer. They recommended it highly. Various online ratings were also positive.

Taking more than two dozen readings over the next ten days, my results were VERY disappointing:

1. Consecutive readings using the left arm immediately followed by the right arm were often WILDLY different - e.g., subtracting right from left readings taken only minutes apart differed from -8 to +25 with an average of 6. Left-right diastolic readings varied from +1 to +10, averaging 5.

2. But trying to retrieve readings from the 90-cell memory was MUCH WORSE. Once I pressed the "M" button to get the first reading (which was the average), the memory display SHUT OFF after ~60 seconds! No matter whether I was pressing the M button once per 30 seconds, once per 15 second, or even once per 5 seconds! I.e., there was NO PRACTICAL WAY to review more than perhaps 60 of the 90 readings it could store. IF viewed at one per second!

3. Other restrictions are that memory readings are only accessible from newest to oldest (opposite to how one would typically enter them in a spreadsheet or record); there's no way to back up; and, the date and time switch back and forth using the same display-area (and taking more time). These "features" are common to many of the b.p. meters, but not all (e.g. Omron's old HEM-637 and new[er] HEM-790IT wrist monitors [but not their other, less expensive wrist and arm units]).

And as a final irritation, Lifesource doesn't include batteries with this premium-priced unit. CHEAP! (On the other hand, that may be "customary" across the manufacturers; I donno.)

I returned this ill-performing unit and now know-better some hidden gotchas to check before purchasing my next one.
