With a petite activity monitor that connects wirelessly to your computer, the A&D Medical Wireless Activity Monitor gives you the tools to set calorie-burning goals and track your progress. The small accelerometer clips easily to your shoe for a convenient way to measure your steps and speed throughout the day or when you go for a run. It comes with a Wireless ActiLink (XL-10) that plugs into your computer's USB port to act as a wireless antenna, making it easy to transfer your data to your computer and view your results. A&D Medical provides extensive web-based software that allows you to not only track your results over time, but to set goals and compare these results with government standards.
This activity monitor is no larger than a bottle cap, making it a subtle addition to your outfit whether you are walking through the grocery store or out jogging. It quickly clips to the top of your shoe for an accurate and convenient way to measure your activity throughout the day. No calibration is required and is uses a standard, replaceable coin style battery.
With A&D Medical's web-based software, your computer can clearly display the data from your activity monitor. The software sets up in minutes, and, once you are registered for an online account, it will show the number of steps you took, the number of calories you burned, the overall time, and the distance you walked. Unlike a pedometer, this accelerometer also measures the average speed of your motion. A free one year subscription is included with every unit.
Using the same software, you can also see your progress and past results over time. View your daily, weekly, or monthly history, compare your results to government standards, graph your trends, and set personal goals right from your computer. Because this software is web-based, you will have access to your data anywhere and anytime you want it.
With a transceiver that acts as a wireless antenna, you do not need to worry about wires or complicated syncing technology. This ActiLink transceiver wirelessly transfers the data from your activity monitor automatically when you move near the computer, and conveniently plugs into your computer's USB port.
The A&D Medical Wireless Activity Monitor (XL-20) is backed by a manufacturer's limited one-year warranty.
Wireless Activity Monitor (XL-20) with Wireless ActiLink (XL-10), CR2032 battery, and trilingual instruction manual (Spanish, French, and English).

Almost excellent,
This review is from: LifeSource XL-20 Wireless Activity Monitor (Health and Beauty)
I have used this activity meter since last Decemeber and now give it as a routine gift. It works very well. It is able to retain information for at least a couple of weeks without downloading. It is able to take water, mud, heat, and a whole lot of knocking around. It is more accurate than any pedometer I have tried; and I've tried more than a half dozen. One problem is getting the program to load-up on the first try.
The product instructions instruct us to replace the whole unit when the battery goes dead. This includes the necessity of buying a brand new adaptor every time one buys a new activity meter. That's wasteful but I would feel better if we didn't have to buy a new adaptor every time as well. Overall, I strongly endorse the product.

Have been using this product for about a month now. I find that I get a high seeing the progress in my activities daily.
Downside, having to buy another in about 4-6 months as the battery in the monitor is not user replaceable. I Would pay for factory servicing if available and if reasonably priced to have the battery changed. THis would be the environmentally correct thing to offer. Software can be finicky at times, but then again, my computer is almost 10 years old and that might be the problem.

My husband and I are very competitive so you can imagine how much use this device receives. Love everything about it except it's battery life. Seems like we have to buy a new one every 3 to 4 months. Yesterday mine was at 49% strength and it died. Registers as 99% now but wont upload my steps. This product needs (1) competition or (2) replaceable battery.
