Great Elliptical - Perfect small size too!,

I really like my LifeSpan EL1000 elliptical and feel it is well worth my money. It's very smooth and gives me a fluid motion as I exercise. The walking stride and the arm movement are very natural. The elliptical console is colorful and tells me everything I need to know. The small size of the elliptical is great too. It is compact and doesn't take up much floor space, and even though our ceiling height is only 7 feet, my husband who is 6 feet tall can use it too. I've tried other elliptical trainers and this one is the best. My LifeSpan is easy to use and just feels good when I use it. It has helped me be healthier - I've lost weight and strengthened my arms and leg muscles. I got my elliptical within days of ordering. Assembly was faster than I expected with good instructions. One of the plastic covers over the handlebar joint didn't fit tight originally but I got it fixed quickly. I would recommend this elliptical.

One month later and its broken,

I was hopeful after speaking to friends that own this machine but sadly after only one month the pedals do not move. The repair company contracted by PCE fitness was nasty and do not know how to repair the item. I would not buy this item.

Bad Elliptical !!,

I bought this elliptical from BJ's and feel totally ripped off.
My reasons are: 1) The elliptical wobbles and rocks from side to side inspite of it being placed on a firm surface and tightening all the screws as indicated by Lifespan. 2)The pulse rate indicator is highly inaccurate. The pulse rate would swing back and forth from 65 to 90 in a matter of few seconds. 3) The calorie count is totally inaccurate. I would work out for 30 minutes at moderately accurate pace and it shows only 50 calories burnt. When I called the customer service they had no idea about it. The customer service seems to be inefficient. When I called their toll free during BUSINESS HOURS the automated answering machine would indicate call during business hours !! I bought this item based on review by Tread Mill Doctors thinking that they are higly acclaimed but it seems they did not review this one properly.

Broke first day I used it. LifeSpan customer service is basically non existent. No phone contact is available and e-mail response is very tardy. I can't say if it works, cause I never got an opportunity to use it.
